View Full Version : Irving Kaye table--anyone's idea on slate pieces?

We are now in possession of a lovely Irving Kaye table from my late in-laws. Does anyone have an idea as to how many pieces of slate lie within? The local retailer (AAA in Bev. Hills) won't touch it if there is one single piece of slate, and we need to move the table from its second floor position rather soon. Ideas? Referrals? Thanks! [also: pricing info?] Double Thanks!

Googling Irving Kaye pool tables...it sounds like you have a
7 ft'r?. I'd guess that it is a one piece slate.
No way to look on the underside of the slate for seams?
I'd check into a local company that provides amusement machines to bars, etc....they'll have plenty of experience with one piece slate tables....
There is a book out on doing this yourself...just google pool table repair...good luck!!

Tough call. I used to believe all Irving Kaye were 1 Piece but I did run into a 3 piece table.

Diamond Pro Ams have a one piece slate. The guys who move them for Diamond can probably help you.
