Forget global warming. Every problem that we face in the world today is tied directly to massive over population. Control population growth and all of the problems of pollution, environmental destruction, global warming et al, will disappear in a single generation.

So, carbon dioxide levels are rising huh? What did you think was going to happen when we cut down half of the trees on the planet? We are still doing it at a rate of thousands of acres a day.

Forget illegal aliens for a moment. Take a look at the effects of legal immigration and world population.

And have several times on this forum.

I believe the whole point of that presentation was that while we chase our tails with movements that address the symptoms, the real problem grows by 80+ million every year. Tripling the population of this country in the next fifty years. Think about it. It is going to happen. There is no abstract science to it. It is just simple math based on existing census data.

I wonder if someone has done the math on taking all of the wealth in the USA, Europe, and wherever else and divided it up among every person in the world, how much would everybody have. I believe that we would all be poor.

The human population has gone far beyond what the natural environment can sustain. We are totally dependent on technology to live. No one wants to talk about a persons right to have children. It opens the door to eugenics. Still as a civilized society there must be some guideline or method for population regulation. It cannot go on the way it is indefinitely.

Yet, the French are dying out and Russia is also afraid of the same thing. Russia just had "conception day." Free cars to those who conceive!!
You are right about dividing the wealth. However, to millions of Chinese that would be a aignficant increase in wealth, especially if you remove a few enemies before divying up.

Not sure what the distribution amount per capita would be...but just read that about half the world's population lives on the equivalent of $2 a day.

Chopstick, you have hit the nail on the head, depressing as it is. IMO

Was an organization around a few years ago called "earth first" that seemed to have the same idea, but appeared to be mostly concerned with getting rid of ranchers and loggers.

I have a somewhat different list of piorities....

Chopstick, a redistribution of the wealth would be an exercise in futility. Human nature guarantees that the imbalance would be back in just a few years, and you would have to repeat the process over and over. Casinos, for example, would love it. Not everybody can be helped by giving them money. The poor will always be with us. I think that is from a book. Some have an excuse for being poor, and others don't. Compulsory compassion and professional poverty seem to be the direction of this country today, but it wasn't always that way.

I hadn't heard about the French and the Russians. I did hear that blondes are now an endangered species.

Of course, we on the right are trying to get that number down a bit, say to $1.27. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Some other interesting numbers I remember from a couple of years ago.

Over 75% of the earth's population have never riden on a motorized vehcle.

Over 85% have never talked on a telephone.

Over 45% have never seen a TV broadcast.

Not sure of the rest but it was amazing. Of course, China and India make up half the earth's population and much of that is there.

I did think about that. It is a interesting question. The right to life. Who decides? From what I hear China has taken drastic measures along these lines. I have a friend who went to China and brought two young Chinese girls home and adopted them. I asked him why he did it. He said you would not believe what they are doing to female children over there. I never looked into it. I'm not sure I wanna know.

Right now there is a boy standing somewhere on an African plain. He knows everything about an AK-47 and nothing about birth control. He can't even read. He will never make a phone call. Neither will his children. They will live and die in misery as they have for generations. If you ask him what he wants he will say he wants to come to America. Either that or he wants to shoot an American.

Well the problem is coming here and we are all going to be affected by it.

You are right about that. On the China girls thing. I have been there many times but other than the horrible way they treat and value women, have not seen some of the brutality I have heard about. I did have a professional female engineer, who was married, "offered" to me once without regard to her choice. No, I did not. The communists don't let you see much more than they want you to and the ACLU didn't have a branch, for some reason, there.

Like the Eskimos, the Chinese want males and they have very high infanticide rates for girls. Of course, unlike Islam, that is a secular based society who, as we have been told, is much more sophisitcated than the Christians.

Africa and India are about as bad with the added benefit of genital mutilation kicked in, minus as much forced, in the family, rape.

I wonder, when the Iranian President speaks at Columbia if the women's movement and the left will stage protests over his countrie's treatment of women? Will they ask questions about his promise to drive Israel into the sea? Or will they politely let him criticise the administration and cheer this terrorist while defending him? I watch CBS every night so I would expect to see Katie cover this well.

At least Hillary stated her strong oppostion to his going to the WTC.

Speaking of Katie, why is everyone so tough on her? I like her better than I did her $70,000,000 predecessor. She's actually pretty good in my opinion.

Don't taser me, Bro! /ccboard/images/graemlins/blush.gif
