Last night I was out with some friends. We were leaving a bar going to dinner and I wanted to stop by this pub on the way and check it out. It looked like a small cozy kind of place and probably had a nice bar table. I know they have live music there.

I walked in and saw the bandstand by the door. I could not believe what I saw at the back of the room. Two 5x10 billiard tables, three diamond professionals, and a brand new bar table. There were about 25 people crowded around the billiard tables and no one was playing pool. It was a billiards tournament going on. I have never seen such a thing. The barmaid told me that they had a lot of billiard players in there.

There are probably a lot of good pool players in there too. I will be back in there next week with my tools and properly introduce my self to the crowd. I can see wasting a few years of my life in there. I am looking forward to adding new dimensions to my pool game by competing in billiards. I don't even know the rules.

The damn 3 cushion game is addicting and very hard, at least for me, to play well. I will recommend it to humble a man. /ccboard/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Dee, have you ever checked out www.caromcafe.com/ (http://www.caromcafe.com/) Sang Lee's site...if it's still up, since Mr. Lee has passed away.
There was about 100 shots to view, by the Masters...impressive, but also very humbling...
My high run is 3.....same as my high run in pool
Still up, i just checked

Yes, I have visited that site but thanks for reminding me. Watching some of those shots is depressing when you think about how easy they make it appear. I saw Mr. Ceulmans in Belgium at a tournament many years ago. What a talent and what a gentleman. Can you imagine a run of 28???? I can't. /ccboard/images/graemlins/confused.gif

My first Billiards tape was a pirated copy of an exhibition by Ceulemans and Raymond Stylarts (?)It was also converted from the European format PAL to our NTSC, losing even more quality.
Then a few years back, I bought the tape by Semih Sayginer
A few of those shots can be seen here:

28??...you'd have to be a Tiger woods to shoot 28
