So, that takes care of this years edition of the US Open.
What a finals. IMO, one of the best finals, it was a tight match with all the drama; runout Pool, safety battles, and tight, close games. Shane didn't pull away til the score was 9-9 and the lead changed hands a couple of times.
Speaking of players, I photographed the "Wild Desert Spotted Poolplayer" in his natural environment. (see pic 1). http://www.insidepoolmag.com/forums/attachments/jimbo/1515d1193069450-2007-us-open-thread-spot.jpg
I had a great time playing in the Billiards Digest CCB Tourney VI. As always, it was great seeing old friends. Thanks to Barry Behrman for donating tables for us and all the sponsors that stepped up to donate prizes. If you're an amateur hack like us and were thinking about going to the Open to watch, you should really consider playing the CCB tourney. Good times. Oh yeah, I just want to apologize for not standing up before the finals (when Barry called for the CCB members to stand up and be recognised). Truthfully, I'm not much of an "in the spotlight" guy (you'd never know it from my big mouth) and it has no reflection on my respect for the other forum members.
In case someone in Siberia didn't get the news, Shane Van Boening kicked azz and won the tourney, undefeated. (See pic 2) http://www.insidepoolmag.com/forums/attachments/jimbo/1516d1193069450-2007-us-open-thread-win.jpg
Check out this short vid of the finals too:

Last but not least, if you want to get an idea of what kind of Accustat numbers the players are playing at, check this out (see pic 3)
