Perhaps you now know how Ernst Rohm felt.

I doubt that you will get it, but maybe you can. Impress me.

I was not offended. I was delighted but, that being said, someone would find something objectionable unless I didn't enjoy them. I'm just glad you didn't have to give Brokeback Mountain pictures equal time. /ccboard/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I confess to reading the other reply here.....was trying to figure out how he could put a negative spin on the thread....turns out though,it's just an attempt to show how clever he is, knowing about a WWII German Leader.
What relationship that guy's story has to your post is beyond me....
Maybe the admin just read about the two guys that escaped from prison, using the method depicted in the "ShawShank" movie....and was afraid your picture could be used for something similar?
I doubt though, that they were worried about an Ernst Rohm connection

boo censorship!

As far as I know, this forum is not frequented by minors... we are adults here (well, by the legal definition at least I mean). And as far as I saw there were even "NSFW" disclaimers in the title of the threads... so what's the big deal? (and even without such a disclaimer... you're at work... get to work and quit wasting the companies time and money, jerk!)

It's a billiards forum... our posters and readers might even go gamble, have a few drinks, possibly do some drugs, and may even ***gasp*** have some unprotected sex later on. Heaven forbid these things should happen.

I'm so gonna fill up page one with nothing but threads of the "2 girls one cup" thing now, just out of spite /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You should be ashamed Sonoma, now go sit in the corner and think about what you did young man. You are on a time out mister!

Actually, Jack, I've read extensively regarding the history of National Socialism - including the bits about the Brown Shirts and the role they played in bringing Hitler to power.
As to the Brown Shirts? I especially enjoyed reading about 'The Night of the Long Knives' when Hitler moved against Roehm and consolidated his power.

Please don't confuse my decision not to dignify El Dumb with an answer for lack of pertinent information on my part. Cuz it ain't necessarily so.

My wife asked me to watch it with her. I gave in. She assured me she had heard that the movie really didn't portray anything and it was just a love story. We were both pretty much OK until the tent scene.
I also hated the part where they haven't seen each other in a while and they sneak a kiss with one poor wife looking out the window.
OK....If these guys are gay that's fine....ride off together into the mountains and do whatever makes you happy. At least that's being honest. But to marry women, and have kids, and live a "lie" is wrong. That's what I hated most about the movie. Two gay guys who ruined other innocent people's lives! They should have gone off and humped each other from day one....forever and always! And, I wasn't impressed by the ability of either one to portray a real "cowboy." But the critics thought so....and which critics are these? Those who don't know real cowboys!

I am not gay-bashing just because I didn't like the movie.

Sonoma, I did enjoy the photos and those that are more "righteuous" than the rest of us, but likely the "nastiest" in the bedroom were offended. I can see how others might be offended and understand the admin. request to decease. However, whoever made the complaint is likely someone who was not forced into clicking on "babe of the day!" They should have certainly learned after the first day...but I bet they continued and clicked on each day's babe.

Here's a decent link re: 'The Night of the Long Knives' and the role of the German SA (brown shirts)

http://www.historyplace.com/worldwar2/timeline/roehm.htm

According to several articles, Roehm was homosexual, as were some of the other top SA leaders.

[ QUOTE ]
A number of the SA leaders, including Röhm, were homosexuals. Prior to the purge, Hitler for the most part ignored their behavior because of their usefulness to him during his rise to power. However, their usefulness and Hitler's tolerance had now come to an end. Later, their homosexual conduct would be partly used as an excuse for the murders.

It's possible that by using the 'brown shirt' epithet in the first place, the homophobic dolt from AZB was attempting to cast yet another gay related slur in the general direction of all those here on the NPR with whom he disagrees.

But who knows, and really, who cares?

Hondo, men often kid each other about being gay. It is very common in locker rooms, and pool halls, and wherever men play. You should get out more often.
Also, you made a childish tongue-in-cheek post on the gun thread at AZB, and I acknowledged it as such, and gave you a playful jab. That's all it was and you know it.

Do you never tire of portraying yourself as a victim?
