Chancellor Gordon Brown was treated at a 100-an-hour private dental clinic, it has been reported.

The Mail On Sunday said Mr Brown underwent root canal treatment last week.

Brown needed dental work
It comes amid ongoing reports that many Britons are unable to find an NHS dentist.

The paper also said Mr Brown had opposed plans by Tony Blair to introduce "private-sector" methods into the NHS.

The Chancellor attended the London Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry run by top private dentist Mervyn Druian, according to the report.<hr /></blockquote>
