What is the best adhesive for leather cord wrap?

I am tinkering with a new feel for my cue. I have an old, cheap butt that I have removed the Irish Linen, and sanded most of the nap out of the grooves.

I plan on using a 1.5 mm leather cord to re-wrap the butt. If I like it, I will use it on my match cue. What is the best adhesive to use for leather?

Contact cement or something else?
