I recently added this instructional video known as the Rail Workout to my http://www.howcast.com account. I love this workout and highly recommend all level players try to work it into their training, very useful shots that come up over and over that you want to be able to shoot with confidence.

Once proficient itíll take you about 60-90 minutes to perform and you should feel very much in stroke when done. High level players that don't like to practice drills, this one is perfect for you.

All feedback, ratings and subscribers appreciated, Iím trying to get howcast off on the right foot as far as pocket billiards instruction goes and by subscribing or commenting it helps keep these videos on top of searches done by aspiring players or fans. Thanks Joe T

These are great workouts Joe. I have done them and they have helped my game a lot. I also encourage my friends to do them.
I am amazed how you can shoot some of those shot while you talk about the thought process.
When ever I try to demonstrate a specific shot or technique for one of my lesser skilled teammates I almost ALWAYS miss the shot. What is your secret?

Persistence!
Always a lot of pressure when trying to demonstrate. some of the toughest situations I've been in were;
checking a rack and trying to make the corner ball (gave a lesson yesterday to a top pro) and then not making a ball on the break.
After releasing my aiming system and having it on display at tournaments, I could hear the collective crowds voices in my head if I missed a ball :yeah nice aiming system.
And after the 3rd Eye stroke trainer whenever i got a straight in shot I was shaking in my shoes.
But if you keep with it you get better at it.

Hi Joe
I got my password to your videos on your site.
I signed up at Howcast. I agree with others you do a fine job on your materials.
I am using your material for my training. I am up to the side pocket workout. I have gone up one skill level since I started.
Thanks to you my back cutting shots has a huge Improvement!
Joe will you be making any lessons or drills for position play? I would love to see you do so.
Thanks
I will post this on your web site too.

FYI, I have several good drills for position play under "drills" here:
http://billiards.colostate.edu/resources
Specifically, check out 3-ball run-out drill (http://billiards.colostate.edu/resources/three_ball_drill.pdf), stop/follow/draw drill (http://billiards.colostate.edu/resources/stop_follow_draw_drill.pdf), and English drill (http://billiards.colostate.edu/resources/English_drill.pdf).

Dave

Thanks Dave
School is getting close to its end for the year.
What are your plans for summer? Are you doing any seminars around the front range?

I plan to have lots of fun (mostly hiking, road biking, and mountain biking). I also hope to get lots of table time. I haven't played enough pool lately, and I miss it. I also plan to work some on my list of billiards-related things to do (e.g., more HSV filming, and several analyses). Sorry, I don't have any seminars planned. Look me up if ever plan to pass through Fort Collins.

Dave
