Well, this is a ground ball. Our very own Fran Crimi is a BCA Certified Master Instructor. Her home room is the Corner Room in Lower Manhattan - 4th Avenue if memory serves. Here's the link: http://www.cornerbilliards.com/

Adios,

Hi,
I do not have rates but Fran Crimi or Tony Robles are two I can suggest! I would just like to say, being in training myself, keep an open mind to the constructive criticism that will be told and LISTEN!Things that you may be told to change may seem uncomfortable at first, but it will all fall in place-I feel, you can have 100 teachers, but you must be a GOOD STUDENT and be able to apply and execute the knowledge that is given to you-I for one am not a BOOKWORM, but show me it once and I'll do it-but everyone is different-sure Ive read many of the books on my own time, but I enjoy accustat tapes and just training with my mentor!:)I wish you the best of luck and remember, keep an open mind!

Can Corner Billiards still be Fran's home room? I have been there at random days/times twice or more a week since March and a hundred other times over the past 2 years and i have never seen her there.

Yes it is. I'm often there practicing or teaching before the room is open. It is difficult to teach there in the evenings with 4 week nights of leagues, so I have to work around that.

There is also an excellent BCA certified instructor, Bob Watson, playing out of SLATE on 21st and 6th. He does informal group clinic every Saturday morning as well as private lessons for more intermediate and advanced players...

Hi Art,

Thanks very much for the compliment. A teacher can only do as much as the student will allow. You owe yourself a compliment on remembering to stay down on your shots. That's one of the hardest things to do.

Stay well,

Fran

Yep, that's him. He learned a lot from Nagy.

Bob's got a great game. He's approachable, has a lot of information (about this game *and* the people who play it), and doesn't make you feel like he's holding you back as a student just to make some extra money...

Hate to break it to you but the answer is no. I just found out my name was mentioned in this today. One of my students at Slate came across the topic and thought maybe I should be mentioned. I guess they thought free press is never a bad thing. So I decided to take a look for myself. Surprised to see my name created a few responses. If anyone wants to contact me you can email me or find me at Slate almost every Saturday morning. Anyway, thats about it. Take care.
