Michael Ware, CNN’s Baghdad correspondent, on the telephone from Iraq. “In this war, as in every other conflict, everybody lies to you. Your government is lying to you. The Iraqi government is lying. The insurgents are lying. The militias are lying. The U.S. military is lying. Even the civilians lie. Or in the best case, there’s confusion and exaggeration. The truth is the most elusive thing in war, particularly in an insurgency.”

<span style="color: #FF0000">Well, according to Mr. Ware, "everybody lies to you". I guess that means we should take what he is saying with a grain of salt as well. Or is CNN the only news outlet that actually tells the truth???
It's amazing how you can pick and choose your news!!!

It's really not a matter of picking and choosing, as you would like to think.

Mr. Ware has earned my attention, and respect, over the long years of this on-going fiasco in Iraq, since he has been correct about everything.

His reports often contradict the daministrations, (and McCain's) and then later, all the news media eventually report the same things which he was first to report. Now, we're hearing from the Iraqi parliament themselves, word which proves there is still no political reconciliation, and they are becomming weary with the United States occupation. Not that you'd care.

I suppose we should just continue to spend, (BLOW) twelve to fifteen billion dollars a month rebuilding Iraq, and just be sure not to call that socialism, nation building, or illegal occupation of a foreign country, while Bush drives the last nail in our coffin of national demise.

Bend over and grab your ankles, George Bush is president.

No Gayle. I think we should just pull out tomorrow and say screw them all. Oh yeah, and let you libs go to all the families of those who gave up their lives and tell them what a waste their kids lives were!

Believe me they already know that. And so does the rest of the world.

yeah, this whole disaster was a National F-up, but we should stay there and let MORE of them die, for nothing.

We could have wiped out al Qeada and bin Laden in afghanistan with drones, Instead, we're going down the drain here, and Bush wqants to build 50 bases in Iraq!

The mans is out of his tree, and so is McCain, and anyone else who can't get their mind around the fact that this has been a mistake, and has hurt us, not helped us.

Just take a look at the debt! Look what has happened to the value of our dollar, the price of gas, the close friendship between Maliki and Iran, and the growoing threat from China, Russia, Iran, and eventually, after they have had their fill of ripping us off, Iraq!

NONE of you righties know a damned thing about economics, or foreign policy.

If you deny till you die, you must be a Republican!

really? Quite a statement there my dear. I'm assuming you were a little upset when saying that, hence I will not reply to that and give you time to perhaps rephrase if you wish.

You're right. I should have said right wingnut neocons, of which I don't include every rightie here, just those who support illegal occupations, torture, illegal wire taps, unprecedented signing statements, a profusion of lies straight from the White House, borrowing trillions from China, failing to address our energy issues, supporting suspension of habeas corpus, outing cover CIA agents, paying despots to stop killing us, failing to give our troops the propper equipment, and rest and training, imprisoning innocent people indefinitely, empowering our enemies, and then calling all that a success, and McCain, holds what he calls "Town Hall Meetings" but won't let anyone in unless they're Republican supporters.

Face it, Sack, this administration's incompetence and lies and breaking of our laws, and Constitutional protections, is unprecedented. The right can deny the mess Republicans have made till the cows come home, but in the midst of a housing crises, oil crises, recession and job loses, comsummer protection crises, failure to protect our borders and enforce immigration laws, and loss of dignity in the eyes of the world, I'd say this is the worst time to be trying to defend Republican Economics, or Republilcan foreign policy.

McCain's votes could have been made by Bush, so if you want more of the same, fine, go vote for McCain, and get more of the same.
