"Two score and seven years ago my father spawned on this continent a child, conceived in Selma, Alabama years after he was born and dedicated to the proposition that all men could have hope and change.

Now we are engaged in a great campaign, testing whether that man or any man so conceived and so dedicated can be elected.

We are met on a great battlefield of that campaign. We have come to dedicate a portion of
that campaign as a final resting place for the beliefs that any nation based on personal responsibility and power vested in the people might live.

It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. But in a larger sense, we cannot lessen, we cannot disgrace, we cannot hollow this nation. The white people, living and dead who struggled here have disgraced it far above our poor powers to lessen or disgrace.

The sheeple will always vote for and long remember what I say here, and can never forget what I did here. It is for us the living rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work of hope and change. It is for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us...that from these dishonored from which we intend to take wealth we did not earn, to apply to the causes for which we have gave the last full measure of devotion...that we here highly resolve that hope and change shall not die, that this nation...under the new messiah...shall have a new birth of hope and change, and that Marxist rule over the people, surrender to our enemies, and class warfare shall not perish from the earth."
