Olympic athletes are supposed to be 16 yeras old to compete. There have been some questions regarding the age of some of the Chinese girls.

Here's a pic that has surfaced of one girl going thru her warmup routine before she gats her tv makeup put on

LOL....good one, again!!!
is she warming up for the uneven bars?
Them's be the youngest 16 yr olds that I have ever seen.
I wondered what the advantage was though...and it seems weight, size, (and maybe weight distribution...I ain't even seen buds protruding from them jerseys))
The Chinese women gymnasts avg 77 lbs, and our gals over 100.
(we're definitely spotting them some "weight" here)

Yeah. A look at the team workout would seem to confirm this

another neat photo....I think it was mentioned that they start their training at age 3 ??
(and probably another 10 yrs before they enter the Olympics)
I think the kid on the left gets a .02 deduction for looking up.

Wolf,
The advantages, in addition to weight and size, are physical flexibility, and the fact that, at that age, they probably are too young to even comprehend the magnitude of the olympics, and are probably just about immune to the kind of pressure the older girls are dealing with.
They just go out there and doo doo what they are told to do.
