BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The United States asked Iraq for permission to maintain a troop presence there to 2015, but U.S. and Iraqi negotiators agreed to limit their authorization to 2011, Iraqi President Jalal Talabani said.
"It was a U.S. proposal for the date which is 2015, and an Iraqi one which is 2010, then we agreed to make it 2011. Iraq has the right, if necessary, to extend the presence of these troops," Talabani said in an interview with al-Hurra television, a transcript of which was posted on his party's website on Wednesday.

So if this so called War on Terror wasn't really American blood, for oil, then why is Bush pushing so hard to stay so long. This has nothing to do with Iraq Security, it's all about the oil. The very thing we need to wean ourselves away from.
What could we have accomplished in renewable fuels, with all the money we've lost, and wasted in Iraq, if we hadn't had oil men in the White House, exploiting our collective 9/11 grief, and fear, for their oil cronies?
No connections to 9/11, no WMD's, No Connections to al Qaeda. According to the Constitution, this is treason. Will you vote for the man who supports treason, John McCain, who refuses to admit the truth about Iraq? A man whose campaign is chock full of oil lobbyists? A man who WAS tortured, and approves torture, eventhough it puts American soldiers all over the world at greater risk to be tortured?
McCain is part of the great lie. America cannot win at anything, in Iraq. You can send American troops anywhere in the world, where there is violence, and tamp it down, temporarily, but you cannot force democracy at the end of a gun. Iran, and Saudi Arabia, will pour money into Iraq for their own interests, indefinitely. The religious factions will continue their cneturies old religious differences. Meanwhile, money we could have spent toward energy independence, will be spent to dig our energy ditch, deeper, and deeper, and continue to threaten our National Security. Our kids are dying for the American Oil Billionaires.
