6.1 %, unemployed, with a job loss of 85,000 for this month, and 9.2% either in foreclosure, or behind in payments.

Gee, guess Bush and McCain were right, the economy must be strong. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

With a hurricane coming up the coast, another heading to Fla, and another one puffing up off Africa, Josephine, and the stock market numbers, no troops reductions for the rest of the year, and our soldiers suicide rate going up, this is one bad friday. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif

Think I'll get plastered! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sick.gif

There is a reason unemployment is high. The dems in congress are bound and determined to make everyone quit using gasoline. They would love to see the price go to 7 or 8 dollars per gallon. The result of this is people are not buying new cars, trucks or SUV's. So the car manufacturers are shutting down the plants that make them, putting people out of work.
Businesses are not hiring right now. They are afraid of what will happen to them if obama/obiden get into the white house. You moan about the economy now, but if the Dems control the white house, and both houses of congress, look for more unemployment, higher taxes, and more inflation.
The business community is very nervous right now, for good reason.

I would think by now, that McSame, his barracudo, the Republican party, and folowers, (like you, for example) would be smart enough to have figured out that after over eight years, even with Faux News, and the Republican spin machine to promote your collective propaganda, that reverse psychology WILL NO LONGER WORK!

As Obama so brilliantly stated.

ENOUGH!

You're hopless. The economy is what it is because of people like you, George Bush, and the Republican spend/spend policies.

Everybody screwed up (yes, Bush included). Nobody has a good fix at present time. Right now I'm just picturing those cartoons where there is a leak in a dam. And the character places a finger in the hole to fix it. Which then leads to two more holes in the dam, which he plugs with yet another finger and perhaps a toe. Eventually he looks like a bad game of twister, and the dam is still leaking. It may wind up just being a matter of if we are going to be plugging the same holes, or trying to plug the new ones for the next four years.

We have the opportunity for the greatest opportunity for economic growth since the industrial revolution by embracing Innovative Energy Technology. Republicans will continue to bloack those efforts, as they have done non stop for these last twelve years, and particularly this last administration, and the years of Republican majority.

Republicans have failed on every single level. National Security, diplomacy, Domestic policies, Energy innovation, higher cafe' standards, protecting the Constitution of the United States Of AMerica, protecting our provacy and liberty. Providing for the common good of the country. Addressing the corruption in their party, maintain the public safety innitiatives, our infrastructure, our ports, our shipping industry, rail system, all completely neglected.

The last thing we need is another neocon, oil friendly, hawk, owned by special interest lobbyists, and that is exactly what McCain has become.

ENOUGH!!!

So basically we are hoping on an economic boom based on something to fix the problems caused from the long term environmental results of what began that great economic boom. I see comedy and irony in that /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

What great economic boom ?

I am disappointed in you if you think we've had any actual economic boom from Republican policies. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

I am hoping that we have a president who isn't in bed with oil, and lobbyists, IOW, Obama, who understands that our future National Security depends on shaping the market so it will be innovative, so that energy technology can be the next revolution, instead of more billions upon billions being siphoned off by radical Middle Eat countries, which will never have our best interests at heart. Some who will cut through the powerful Lobbyists, like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the Oil Industry, the powerful Israeli Lobbyists, the Insurance Industry, Pharmaceiticals, etc, and work for the whole country, instead of just the wealthiest among us.
