It's Official, President Obama has America back on top! Up from the drop that Bush had created.

OMG, how will the Republikooks ever recover from these indisputable numbers. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">U.S. most admired country globally: survey
NEW YORK (Reuters Life!) The United States is the most admired country globally thanks largely to the star power of President Barack Obama and his administration, according to a new poll.

It climbed from seventh place last year, ahead of France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Japan which completed the top five nations in the Nation Brand Index (NBI).

"What's really remarkable is that in all my years studying national reputation, I have never seen any country experience such a dramatic change in its standing as we see for the United States for 2009," said Simon Anholt, the founder of NBI, which measured the global image of 50 countries each year.

He believes that during the previous administration of George W. Bush the United States suffered in the world ranking with its unpopular foreign policies but since Obama was elected, and despite the recent economic turmoil, the country's status has risen globally.

"There is no other explanation," Anholt said in an interview, referring to the impact of Obama.

The global survey, conducted by GFK Roper Public Affairs & Media, involved 20,000 people in 20 rich and developing countries around the globe. They were asked to rate 50 nations in categories such as culture, governance, people, exports, tourism, landscape and education.

Canada took the biggest hit in the latest survey, falling to seventh from fourth place, while China climbed several spots to 22nd, which Anholt believes in due in part to the successful staging of the Olympics.

China has always scored low on human rights and environmental policies but high on cultural heritage.

"It is the first time China's profile has risen," said Anholt, who has been doing the annual poll since 2005.

"Since the Olympics its score for tourism and its people has risen and that has helped to stem its decline," Anholt explained.

Italy maintained the sixth spot in the survey for the second year, while Switzerland came in eight, followed by Australia in 9th place and Spain and Sweden, which tied for 10th place.

At the opposite end of the survey Colombia and Kenya tied for 47th place. Angola was number 49 and Iran came in last at number 50.

I'm waiting for someone to blame President Obama for Kenya being in 47th place.

It isn't too surprising that those who have been envious of America enjoy and support the NEW AMERICA more. The spectacle of its leader knocking his own country down is the fodder for the ignorant and the bane of the informed.

It's obvious to which camp the local lefties belong and sadly, they will remain in that camp even as the once great country devolves into poverty and chaos.

No. I'm sure we can find a way to blame Bush for that as well!

<span style="color: #000066">Obama never knocked his own country down. The trouble with the right is that they see gross arrogance, and dangerous bravado, that insults other countries in the world, as strength, and diplomacy and conscience, as weakness.

"Walk softly and carry a big stick"

Wars of choice, which are created for the purpose of war profiteering pigs, corporate cronies of the administration, namely Bush, and Cheney, and the rest of the Busnh clan, will never win us friends. Lying about the need to go to war and kill people and destroy the lives of the innocent, along with Bush's torture, and obnoxious statements and posture, lost us allies, and ruined our reputation.

Those are the facts. Obama has restored our honor. That's a fact, proven by this non partisan poll, and the statements of the man who has been doing these polls for thirty years.

You can't stand it because is represents more proof of the failed neocon Republican policies. More proof that the lies you and other RWers here tel, are in fact, lies. No surprise there. We don't expect the right to be in touch with reality.</span> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

Wow ... a bunch of ungrateful Eurabian socialist democracies, who exist only because their freedom was bought for and still is defended by US blood and steel, finally have a POTUS who agrees with their "AMERICA SUCKS!" bovine scatology and they like it?

Whooda thunkit?

Furthermore, who cares.

It's time to bring the troops home and let the Euros swim in their own pool of putridness.

Because it is more important to be loved by the rest of the world than it is to do what's best for the US.

Duhh!

People who truly think that winning a world popularity contest is of any significance are are even more shallow than a petri dish.
I imagine they live their lives in a perpetual glee club.

you off your meds again....and they let you have your computer back? Does anybody write that sh*t for you, or do you just dream it up when you ingest some loco weed?
In reality that crap isn't humorous, is meant to divide the country, and aids and abets the enemy....Americans against Americans....
Just remember that when Bush's Islamic friends attack this country, he'll be safely in Dubai...and you'll be bent over with your head between your legs, kissing your ass goodbye.
About the last time I can remember anybody writing the kind of divisive crap that you write, would be in 1930's Germany.....but
this is a free country and there are many fringe wacko groups out there....who knows ,you might be the grand dragon in one of them

Hey, we can't expect these resident members of the dangerous radical RW fringe element to grasp the importance of having good relations with other countries in the world.

First of all they deny global warming, oh, and a few other little falsehoods they live by, like the age of the earth, and the fantasies tales in the bible, and the entirely pointless waste of life and treasusr aka the BUSH mess in the Middle East. We can't forget that they were indoctrinated into the Neocon philosophy,.... insult the world, bomb the **** out of everybody, and tell them to go F-off.

Brilliant little soldiers, no? Diplomatic experts!

"bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States"

Didn't one of them write that Bush had more important things on his mind like 9/11? NOT!

LMAO! Didn't they say that launching a war in Iraq, would distract the terrorists from attacking us, while the terrorists were franchising their operations and training grounds all over the world?

Didn't bush's failure to stay focused on his own WOT, in Afghanistan, allow bin Laden to get away, allow N. Korea, Iran, Hezbollah, al Q., Hammas, in fact, ALL the terrorist groups, and threats, to expand?

We have to remember what we're dealing with around here. Dangerous, Radical, fringe elements, aka, part of the nutty 28%. Aka Republikooks!

Anyway, screw 'em. I wanted you and Dick and Hondo, and Mad Max to hear the good news, in case you missed it, since the right vast wing media isn't reporting it.

OK, so we are back as most admired. Will gayle please let us know when this admiration will help silence Chavez, force Putin to do what he said (force Iran to quit their nuclear advances) when we dropped the missile defense program, remove Kim Jong-Il, etc? With this newfound admiration maybe Iran will stop building their new-not-so-secret-anymore nuclear facility.

gaylio is more interested in people liking her than getting people to do what they say and removing the terorrists from the face of the earth.
