Hilarious stuff. Radio interview from campaign time with Harlem voters, showing they supported Obama because of his policies. Even if his policies were... well... ummm... McCain's. lol.

Classic. Some of his voters were happy that Obama is anti-stem cell research, pro life, wants to stay in Iraq, and were quite content he chose his running mate... Palin.

A must listen /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

So what do you think was the REAL reason they supported him?

Dumb? No. But I would agree that a large number of voters are woefully uninformed when they go to the voting booth.

How else can you explain Obama's election? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Easy, discontent. The Bush Admin forced the population to vote against them.
They handed over 2 un-won wars and an economy going down the toilet. Then ,...suddenly, the guy who believes in Capitalism, the Free Market etc....the strong will survive .. is asking the asking the taxpayer to bail out Wall St.

He dropped ALL his BASIC principals to save his 'own folk'.....his base.

White southern men are still in shock that a black family is in the W.H.

Everything about the right is anti-gay, anti-women's rights, anti-hispanics, and against freedom of choice on all issues, from personal rights to personal privacy, even to the degree of invading another persons BODY!

They consistantly vote against improving Veterans care, addressing climate change, helping hungry children, improving education, and moving the country toward a cleaner, healthier environment, through renewables, reducing dependency on fossile fuels.

They are against the Separation of Church and State, and what they actually want is to turn the country into a religiously dominated theocracy, instead of the secular nation it was intended to be by the founders.

Every major problem we face, is blocked from adnvaces by Republicans, from the health care crisis, to the energy crises, and including re-regulating the corporate fascist pigs.

They are truly the party of hypocrites, racists, sexists and ignorance....

Thank you, Q!!!

Obama did not get elected because people believed in his policies. For the most part, nobody even knew what his policies would be, since he rarely discussed anything specific during the campaign. They just voted against Republicans. Now that he is in office, and failing miserable, his approval numbers keep getting worse. People found out that change is not always a good thing. As we are seeing firsthand right now, it can go from bad to worse.

The hatred many people expressed about Bush created a backlash that blinded many to what they were actually getting into.

Slowly, their eyes are being opened.

Thank you pooltchr, ..........'They just voted against Republicans.'

There must have been a reason? You point to Obama but you seem unwilling to discuss WHY people voted AGAINST GW.

I KNOW why thay voted against them. They abandoned the conservative values, particularly conservative fiscal values. Bush spent money like a drunken Democrat!

Doesn't it bother you in the least that the reason Obama is in office is because people didn't think he was as bad as the alternative?

With all the millions of people in this country, it would seem we could find someone to lead the country who was actually a GOOD choice, rather than one that doesn't seem to be too bad.

On a related note, I just heard Obama's support for the war in Afghanistan is slipping. He shot down all the suggestions recommended to him, but doesn't seem to have a plan of his own.

Isn't it nice that we have a decisive commander in chief????

I'd support Obama because he is Trying to do what is best for America, as opposed to the last admin's policies of doing what is best for themselves

That is your opinion, and not one held by everyone. Maybe he THINKS he's doing the right thing, but turning us into a socialist society will be the downfall of the country.
Forget Robin Hood! Robbing from the rich to pay the poor is not the way this country got to the level of greatness we achieved. That happened with individualism and a strong entropenourial spirit.

What a crock!

Preventing Bush's Depression with an economic stimulus!

Working to get out of Iraq.

Developing a more effective strategy for Afghanistan and going after al Qaeda

The End Of the United States Torturing people.

Working to Close Qitmo.

Universal Health Care...

A change in foreign policy: Effective Communication With Foreign Countries, Emphasis on Diplomatic efforts, more than bombs...

Improving access and effectivity of our Education system

Working to help keep people in their homes

Moving the country toward Renewable Energy

Climate change

Rebuilding our infrasstructure, and providing jobs in the process.

All of these Policies which were well ALL consistantly addressed throughout Obama's campaign were, and are on his agenda.

AND he is working now, on all of them....as Republicans try to block any progress, and shift our attention toward their socially divisive "Christian" BS, like they always do.

Amazing the vast ignorance and denial, the exaggerated twisting of facts, propaganda that kept Bush in office, still runs rampant, even as we are all living with the devastation of Republican Policies, and the Bush fiasco FUBAR administration!.

Do you actually believe he has accomplished any of that or is that just what the voices in your head told you to type?

It obviously is my opinion, since I took the bother to write it down and post it here. Why would you even bother to mention that as the opening line for your.. er.. "scathing" reply?
Did I claim that it was ipso facto?
More of your "if I read your posts, I can get educated" crap?
It Seems like you have a real problem with people whose opinions differ from yours.
Educate someone else will you, someone that maybe gives a **** about WTF you write here as gospel.
If you want to preach to the troops here (and troop is what they call a family of monkeys) ,do me a favor and use your own original posts, not a reply to mine....to sway them with your vast working knowledge of all things...sheesh

Silly me! I thought that by pointing out how the Robin Hood philosophy has never worked in the past, you might actually think about your position on the issues.

I should have known better.
