View Full Version : Read it before voting???

Republicans offered up an ammendment that would require senators to certify that they have read and have an understanding of the contents of the healthcare bill and it's ammendments before voting on the bill.

Dems objected to it!

Harry is talking about trying to get the bill passed before Christmas (one week away) and yet they still don't have a final bill, and nobody has read it.

As one Republican senator put it, the only thing we know about this bill is that it will raise taxes and cut Medicare.

If it's a good bill, there shouldn't be any problem letting everyone read it. That tells me that even the Dems know it's a bad bill. Which makes me wonder why they are so determined to pass it anyway.

It would appear.

A legislature this unafraid of the electorate makes one wonder why?
