who is online

i always check who is online. last time i checked it said 13 but only 8 showed up. why do certain people not want people to see when they are online?

Maybe they don't want to be PM'd or IM'd by Yahoo or AOL instant messenger. I'm sure different people have their reasons. I'm too lazy to change mine. Heck, I never even log off.
