View Full Version : iPad?
Who is getting one?
3g unlimited data for $30/month is not a bad deal at all.
No mention of severing the exclusivity contract with AT&T and then mentioning the great price on the AT&T unlimited package makes you wonder if they are going to sever the agreement.

No multitasking.
No MacOS app compatibility.
No handwriting recognition.
All it turned out to be was a big iPhone with no camera that won't make calls.

Not iPhone, iTouch. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif No multi-tasking is disappointing, I agree but the MacOS app I am fine with because I don't run on a Mac and have no software that would need to be loaded. The other issue is that I don't remember seeing any USB connection so there would not be any way to get my software onto the device.
One thing that was pretty cool is the price of iWorks. Could you imagine MS Office 2007 being sold for $30? Never hear of it unless you are a student.
I think I would like the iPad because I travel so much it would make my entertainment time on the plane much more enjoyable. I watch a lot of movies on my iPhone and I read a lot of books using the Kindle app for the iPhone. Both of those experiences would be more enjoyable with a 10" IPS display. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Oh well, there is no way I can justify the cost so I will be happy with my iPhone until July when the new one comes out.

I don't think it will run any PC software either.
It's not a laptop replacement to me unless I can run Photoshop.

Jack,
Thanks for the link. I have spent all I am going to spend on these things this year and am not about to add one more $29.99 a month service to keep up with. If my phome, laptop or firearm won't do it, I just don't need it. I think all of us expected a big new thing instead of this.

Pretty funny. That clip gets used quite a bit. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Ed, I've also seen it used for other bits of parody, but the dialog they assign to Hitler, or whomever they are "lampooning",usually still earns a chuckle.
Most definitely. We even used it here at work one time. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
