John Kennedy was a "LIBERAL" only when viewed in the classical definition of the word. Today, those that are called "LIBERTARIANS" or "TEA PARTIERS" are the closest to meeting the classical definition of liberal ... which comes down from the concept of the "LIBERTINES" of the 18th century.

Classical liberalism believed in minimal state intervention in private lives, minimal regulation, and minimal taxation ... all three concepts are considered toxic contagion by what today is called liberalism.

Modern liberalism took the name after they had been called progressives ... which is now making a comeback ... which they took after they had been called socialists which they took after they had been called communists which they took after they had been called Marxists.

JFK, if he were alive today, would be denounced by the American left ... and by hondo ... as a wild eyed madman.

He was more conservative than either Palin or McCain or either of the Bush presidents. His political ideology, when compared with Limbaugh and Beck, is far to the right of anyone in the demokook leadership and to the right of almost all of the republichicken leadership.

Words mean things, and they are best understood when used in their proper context.

Former President Jimmy Carter is fuming. Given his disastrous record in office you would think that he would be happy to be compared to the Anointed One, but apparently President Obama has made such a mess that even Carter is now distancing himself.

When foreign policy analyst Walter Russell Meade compared the two in the journal Foreign Policy, Carter submitted a letter to the editor noting this displeasure, stating, "I resent Meade's use of such phrases as, 'In the worst scenario turn him [Obama] into a new Jimmy Carter' to describe my service."

Carter concludes that during his presidency "we greatly expanded our global influence and also protected the security, strength, ideals and integrity of the U.S."</div></div>

Judging by the way things are going, I predict by 2012 President Obama will want to be compared to Carter.

Actually ... people who today call themselves liberals are simply squatters upon the language.

Classic liberalism believed in the small state, minimal state intrusion, low taxation, and personal property rights as well as the state only having the rights the people allowed it to have.

In reality, liberals have allowed others to rebrand them as conservatives.

Back to the beginning, Marx began the modern thought of what statism is today. Upon giving Marxism a bad name to the point Karl Marx uttered his famous "I am not a Marxist!" line they began to call their movement "COMMUNISM" ... how can anyone be against that which is supposedly for the communal good?

Well, once Lenin/Stalin et all turned communism into Hades on Earth the Marxist/Communists began referring to their movement as "SOCIALISM" ... how can anyone be against what is proposed to be for the good of society?

Well ... some folks in Germany led by a paper hanger founded a socialist state in Germany in the 1930's. That ruined the name of socialism.

Next they began calling their movement the "PROGRESSIVE PARTY" ... even ran a candidate for POTUS in 1948. Then it was found out that the movement was funded by Stalin and full of soviet agents.

Never ceasing, they took over the name of "LIBERALISM" in the 1960's ... after JFK mind you ... and under the admins of LBJ and Carter did massive damage to the US economy and society and educational systems and our immigration policy. Again it was found that they were riddled with soviet operatives, including JFK's brother Teddy who had contacts with the soviets during the Reagan admin attempting to undermine US foreign policy, and Jimmuh Cahtuh traversing the globe to undermine 3 subsequent US presidents.

The US far left has retreated unto the old "PROGRESSIVE" name once again on the national stage.
