Obama, Pelosi, and friends are laying it all out for the Dems. Be prepared to lose your job if you vote healthcare reform. But be prepared to lose it if you don't vote for it as well. Because if a Dem votes against the bill, the DNC will find someone else to run against them.
So basically, they are told they will either lose in the primary or they will lose in the general election.
Now why would they stay with the party line in the face of this kind of heavy handed maneuvering?

Simple. Healthcare is going to create such a huge government burocracy that they will become very highly paid consultants or government employees. IOW, if you lose your job because you voted for it, we will cover you. But if you vote against it, we will cut your legs out from under you.

Nice, caring, warm hearted people, huh???

From a party POV this is being done brilliantly.

1 - Pass a Marxist agenda, but have the main provisions begin a few years out.

2 - Lose control of congress before the agenda kicks into law.

3 - Blame the opposition in 2012 when the the 2010 agenda collapses things.

It has taken almost a generation, but I believe Alinsky is finally on the verge of getting his wish of overturning our society.

In the short term, perhaps.

It is not outside the realm of possibility for the US to see a full scale revolt or a military coup by a patriot ... or Peron wannabe ... toppling the current administration.

There is a dark storm forming on the horizon, and the statists ignore it at their own peril.

Once upon a time in America "WE THE PEOPLE" seized power from the oligarchy and the toryists were tarred and feathered across the land for their complicity with the prior regime. History also gives us as examples the fate of French citizens who worked with the Nazis.

I'm hoping we can yet avoid such situations, yet those who kiss the hand of their state masters are insisting upon risking their own doom. Mobs are ugly things.

My take on this is that Pelosi KNOWS the American people do NOT want what she is trying to force down our throats and she does not care about anyone else but herself. Even Obama knows the American people do not want this bill.

They are already pitching this debacle as "BIPARTISAN WITHOUT BIPARTISAN VOTES" and the only reason fro the summit was an attempt to gather a few republichicken votes so they could hide their culpability for this in the demokook party.

And, come this fall the Obamatrons will cite chapter and verse how the republichickens ideas being added in are what poisoned the bill.
