Dayton faces Ole Miss and Rhode Island faces Nawth Carolina.

UD vs Ole Miss is a tough pick ... URI beats UNC and wins the NIT.

You're picking with your heart...not your head.

You think UNC will beat URI?

Yes. They fell out of the big dance, and they have something to prove. That's powerful motivation.

One can say that about all 4 teams that are left.

What killed Dayton and URI more than anything is that the A-10 isn't an old school major conference.

Had both teams been in either the Big 10 or SEC they would have been in thebig tourney.

But ... would of, could of, should of, they weren't and they didn't.

I think the NIT is really wide open ... but I'd have to put UNC as the long shot, but still probably a 20% shot at winning.

Why does that tourney even exist anymore?

"Whoopie, we bust our butts and WIN to lay claim to being the 66th best team in the country"

LOL! Pretty much the way I see it. Who cares?

What's amazing is that there is a third tourney, CBI, to see who's 98th.

oh yeah, good call LWW, I completely forgot about that one! Maybe they shouldn't even have a regular season in college BB anymore if basically everyone is in postseason anyway. Just have a 3 month tournament with everyone!

For money reasons, I predict they will both soon fold into the NCAA as it expands to 128 teams over time.

That's 1 more round and it would take 4 days if the game rate was the same as the current 1st round.

They've actually suggested, with some strong backing,
that every Division I school be admitted into the NCAA tourney.

Can you imagine that?

If the networks will pay ... the teams will play.

Pretty crazy... but I suppose nobody watches the regular season stuff anyway... so may as well cheapen it even more.

BTW, is it just me or has there been a lot of empty seats at these games?

Nope....96!
They are already talking about it.

The early rounds exist for TV.

Tickets are sold for that day's games ... so you may have to buy tx for 2 or 4 games just to attend 1.

well looks crappy on TV to see a bunch of empty seats! lol

I agree with that, I don't know why they don't usher people from the cheap seats down closer after the game gets going well.
