My biggest problem with 8-Tracks was that they came at a time when many bands were recording those LOOOOOOOOOOOng versions of songs, and that damn "fade out - click - fade back in" when one cut was more than 15 minutes long!
Rare Earth had a very hot long version of Get Ready and the only copy I ever had of it was on 8-track. Would love to get my hands on a CD of that albmu.

They look like LTO tapes. LTO tapes that size can now hold 3.2 terabytes of data. That's like every song in the world on a single tape.

But back in the 70s, 60 minutes was just about the limit...they did make them 90 minutes, but after you played them a few times, the tape would stretch and distort the music!
