Take a bag of sauerkraut. Rinse it thoroughly in a draning dish.
Add one bottle of beer or some water and cook very slowly. Add a little garlic and pepper.
Saute a mess of ramps and either green onions or wild onions in olive oyl.
Mix and fry one lb of Jimmy Dean hot sausage and one lb of JD mild sausage.
Fry several strips of decent bacon fairly crisp.
Combine all ingredients and cook a little longer on low heat.
Gets better every time you warm it up.
A little fried bologna in the mix is good also.

Now we're talking.
Funny you should post that. I am doing brauts tonight.
Have you substituted brats for the sausage??
Light beer or dark beer??

I grind up and mix the hot and mild sausage.
Light beer.
Lots of ramps here.
And, please, no baloney!!!!
You aren't a true appalachian without a little fried bologna now and then.
Why ... I'd bet you've never even had burgoo or manifold chicken.

Fried baloney has nothing to do with that dish and would ruin it.
That's a matter of personal preference.
Most folks come to a forum to exchange opinions and information.
Others come to pontificate.

dudley, if you want to stick baloney in my recipe, that's your perogative.
Enjoy.
I appreciate your newfound tolerance of other POV's. That is a small step forward, but a step forward nonetheless.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step forward.

Would it be possible to consider recipes and a few other areas not involving politics a neutral zone??
A good recipe and its variations is about as honest as you can get.
Perhaps a little restraint could be the order of the day???

It's been tried ... and hondo claimed to be a martyr.

Steve, I like fried baloney. I don't eat much of it, however.
My weaknesses are WV hot dogs( mustard, chili, and onions)
Toss some diced banana peppers on there and you have a treat.
