I wonder what authority the federal government has to dictate to states what laws they can or can not pass.

And in this particular case, the wording was taken verbatim from the federal immigration laws.

Obama says we need immigration laws at the federal level, or more states will attempt the same thing. Didn't anyone tell him we already have federal immigration laws? Maybe he needs to focus on enforcing the laws we have, rather than making new ones.

This administration seems to actually believe they are the sole authority on everything, and can bully anyone and everyone in order to get their way.
