HR 2499 is designed to force the people of Puerto Rico to vote on statehood.
That sounds innocuous enough, but one must consider the fact that:
- Puerto Rico has voted, by large margins, against statehood 3 times in the last 20 years.
- Puerto Rico has the ability to bring the vote up again if they so desire.
- Puerto Rico is already a democracy.
- Puerto Rico has a lower income level per capita, by far, than any other state.
- Puerto Rico is a largely democrat supporting area.
- Puerto Rico would add 2 more senators, almost a certainty to be demokooks, and would thus restore dearest leader's filibuster proof majority.
- Puerto Rican separatist terrorist groups have committed many acts against the US, including a very close to fulfilled assassination of Harry Truman, and would likely draw the US into an internal counter insurgency action.
The current regime in DC is proving to be extremely dangerous and has so far shown no limits to the depths they will stoop to in order to gain and maintain power.
