Jump Guy (sung to the tune of American Pie)
A long long time ago
I can still remember how that jump cue used to make me cry
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make that cueball dance
And maybe I could get it into the sky.
But getting hooked made me shiver
With every jump I'd deliver
The low down on my jump shots
Was to protect your crotch
I can't remember if I cried
When I hit that lady in the side
They said the bruise went deep inside
The day my jump cue died
So
{Refrain}
Bye-bye, Mr Jump Cue Guy
Drove the cueball to the cloth
But the ball never flied
And them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Sayin' Watch out for that jump cue guy
Or this could be the day that you die.

When I take the JC out of my case, people lift their feet, women grab their children and run and the frail begin to pray. It's to them, I dedicate this song and at least one hour per week of jump practice in an attempt to make the pool room a safer place.
Regards,
Ken (wondering how many of you are old enough to remember this song)
