View Full Version : No politics please...
So, what are your top 5 non-news/non-political websites? Which ones do you frequent the most?
Mine are as follows: <ul> espn.com (http://espn.go.com) Engadget.com (http://www.engadget.com) AVSforum.com (http://www.avsforum.com/) tomshardware.com (http://www.tomshardware.com/us/#redir) appleinsider.com (http://www.appleinsider.com) [/list]Most runner-ups are tech or consumer blogs. Anyone else fooling around with Arduino at all? Since I have moved from a developer position to a tech lead role I have missed my roots and am looking at keeping the skills fresh.

Another jazz fan, but I can only take so much of the Rippingtons though. Way too Kenny G for me. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Go see them live. That will change your mind!
Enjoy...

The same thing happened with Chris Botti. His music is just way too watered down to be called jazz, however when he is live he proves his chops are second to none.

I think it's true for a lot of groups. There is a lot of energy that comes from a live audience that works it's way into the music.
Boney James is pretty bland on his CD's, but he will flat out rock an auditorium. I've been to more than my share of jazz festivals, and I have seen it happen more than once.
Nothing like a live show!
Steve
I agree. With Botti, it is just a plain fact, mainstream jazz pays a lot better than true jazz. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif When hearing him live and watching him improvise across the changes so fluidly it is awesome. No need for that stuff in his mainstream stuff because most people cannot hear the changes anyways.

Jazz is music made for musicians.

Yes, and 6 of the 10 posts were discussing Jazz. Why are you being argumentative and sarcastic? St.
That's funny.
I was adding to the list.
Perhaps you might do the same?

You don't need to post to Steve, there are plenty of other websites out there. Thank goodness also. If it was just news/politics/jazz it would be a very boring web.

I'm hoping for a rematch of the 1976 World Series.

Does the escorts section of craigslist count? No wait, i guess that could be considered news. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif
LOL, well if that is what you look for. I thought after the escort up north was killed they did away with that section. I guess you can see how often I have looked. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
