Sad day for baseball.
Steve
A very sad day for sure. I hope his kids learned everything they could because Yankees fans love to see wins through free agency. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

The Yankees were successful in spite of George and not because of him, other than the massive amount of money he was willing to spend.
That being said, I hope he made peace with eternity before his Earthly demise and may the Creator bless his soul.

Without his money they would not have been as successful.

That's why I said other than the money.
The time thrived only after George was banned from day to day operations of the team.
When George called the shots himself the money was spent and the team floundered.
