LOL. A link to the NRA!

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">DURYEA, Pa.--At a campaign event here Friday, Barack Obama ran headlong into the one of the issues that dogs him in this battleground state.

"There are rumors going around that . . . you're going to take away our guns," said Joan O'Neil, a resident of tiny Susquehanna in northeastern Pennsylvania, a big-time area for hunting.

This gun issue that Obama has tried to deftly navigate throughout this long campaign and one that damaged him here in his primary fight with Hillary Clinton. And it's one that could do even him even further harm in the general election, as he is matched against a pro-gun ticket that includes a vice-presidential nominee who has been photographed firing an assault rifle.

And indeed, several of the dozens of plant workers invited to Obama's economic "town hall" here in this town outside of Scranton, Pa. nodded as the question was asked. Pennsylvania has the highest per capita rate of National Rifle Association members in the nation.

<span style='font-size: 17pt'>"I believe in the Second Amendment, and if you are a law-abiding gun owner you have nothing to fear from an Obama administration,"</span> Obama said. "This has been peddled again and again. Here's what I believe: The Second Amendment is an indvidual right. . . people have the right to bear arms. But I also believe there is nothing wrong with some common-sense gun safety measures."

GOP vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin, now likely the most famous moose-hunter in the country, mocked Obama's stance on guns during her nomination speech Wednesday, when she accused him of talking "one way in Scranton and another way in San Francisco," -- a reference to Obama's now infamous comment about some people in America who "cling to guns or religion."

As examples, Obama listed background checks and providing cities with federal gun trace data that would allow them to go after dealers that sell guns illegally. (Currently, by an act of Congress, that data is kept confidential.) He did not mention banning assault weapons, but Obama has expressed support for such a ban in the past.

"That kind of thing is common sense and has nothing to do with the guy who has got his rifle and wants to go hunting," Obama said. <span style='font-size: 17pt'>"Now the NRA -- I'll be honest and I'm sure there are NRA members here -- their general attitude is that we don't want anything, and if you even breathe the words 'gun control' or 'gun safety' then you must want to take away everybody's guns. Well, that's just not true." </span></div></div>

Fact is, Obama has done zilch on gun control whilst being in office despite the fear mongering. The Obama 'gun grab' has failed to materialize because it was all a con. Smoke and Mirrors.
They did sell a lot of guns to people who fell for it though.

Democrats' victory leads to boom in gun sales
Gun owners fear tough new laws; one shop criticized for 'Obama sale'

Rachel Smith, 32, of Richmond, looks over shotguns at the Bob Moates Sport Shop in Richmond, Va., on Thursday. Smith, the mother of five children and an avid hunter plans to purchase several guns before President-elect Barack Obama takes office.

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. — When 10-year-old Austin Smith heard Barack Obama had been elected president, he had one question: Does this mean I won't get a new gun for Christmas?

That brought his mother, the camouflage-clad Rachel Smith, to Bob Moates Sports Shop on Thursday, where she was picking out that special 20-gauge shotgun — one of at least five weapons she plans to buy before Obama takes office in January.

Like Smith, gun enthusiasts nationwide are stocking up on firearms out of fears that the combination of an Obama administration and a Democrat-dominated Congress will result in tough new gun laws.

"I think they're going to really try to crack down on guns and make it harder for people to try to purchase them," said Smith, 32, who taught all five of her children — ages 4 to 10 — to shoot because the family relies on game for food.

Last month, as an Obama win looked increasingly inevitable, there were more than 108,000 more background checks for gun purchases than in October 2007, a 15 percent increase. And they were up about 8 percent for the year as of Oct. 26, according to the FBI.

No data was available for gun purchases this week, but gun shops from suburban Virginia to the Rockies report record sales since Tuesday's election.

'Scared to death'

<span style='font-size: 17pt'>"They're scared to death of losing their rights,"</span> said David Hancock, manager of Bob Moates, where sales have nearly doubled in the past week and are up 15 percent for the year. On Election Day, salespeople were called in on their day off because of the crowd. </div></div>

"Oh my God Charlotte, there's a black man in the WH and he wants to take our guns away. He is going to steal all our money, give it to black folks so they can buy flat screen TV's and then turn us all into white slaves."
"Are you sure?"
"It must be true, Glenn Beck said so."
"Lets get down to the gun shop right away."

You really don't understand how the US republic operates do you?

The POTUS is not a dictator who can rule by fiat, although leftists are pushing us towards that.

And, FWIW, it wasn't a link to the NRA ... it was a link to a series of links compiled by the NRA of Obama's positions.

IOW ... it was a link to a compilation of data they would never trust you with so it never goes on the spoon.

He can't.

The question was whether of not he wanted to.

The SCOTUS overturned the DC and Chicago gun bans which Obama supported.

There also are tens of millions of US gunowners who will not surrender as UK/Canada/Australia did.

Finally, we also have a military which takes an oath to the COTUS and not Obama.

So, Obama and the statists only hope to disarm the populace is via incremental treachery.
