According to the most recent and likely most accurate polling, the senate would break down as 48 (R) ... 45 (D) ... 3 (I) ... with 4 a tossup.

With the 4 tossup states being in disarray from a generation of democrook mismanagement, about the best the democrooks can hope for is an (R) plurality.
BUH BYE FILIBUSTER PROOF MAJORITY. (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2010/election_2010_senate_elections/election_2010_senate_balance_of_power)

If 2012 continues with the 2:1 R over D trend we could be looking at Obama out and the R's with 67 seats in the senate and an overwhelming majority in the house.

The TPM at that point would have to change it's focus from removing this evil regime to holding the new regime's feet to the fire.
