The Mid-term election of 1998. Some surprises. Barbara Boxer won a squeaker, Charles Schumer won an upset victory in a hotly contested race in New York from Alfonse D'Amato. The Bush Brothers won their respective Governor's Races, Jeb in Florida and George in Texas. Grey Davis won in California (but not for long, as we all remember so well), Newt Gingrich was still busy gloating.

Newt Gingrich: “This will be the first time in seventy years that Republicans kept control of the House for a third term. And you would think that, to do something for the first time in seventy years, would be a fairly big deal. But not among the Washington pundits. <span style='font-size: 20pt'>Well why is it a fairly big deal? Well, because you have every committee will be chaired by Republicans, every sub-committee will be chaired by Republicans. The Rules Committee will be nine to four in favor of Republicans, and we will schedule legislation based on a Republican agenda. </span></div></div>

How bi-partisan is that?

About as bi-partisan as our government has been for the last two years.

This from a guy who supports a <s>thug</s> <s>dictator</s> <s>El Presidente</s> <s>Maximum Leader</s> dearest leader who just told the opposition party to STFU and "ride in the back seat" ... his Pavlovian love of whatever is put on the spoon is simply astounding.

If I had the choice, I would want his posts put in the Smithsonian for future generations,

</div></div>Why are you going so far in the past and questioning lack of bipartisanship when you can see proof of it going on RIGHT FREAKING NOW!!! Get your head out of the sand.

Republicans never take responsibility for their colossal messes.

They've managed to hold up Tom Delay's court case for all of this time, they are just this week getting around to placing the jury.

Most Americans know who made this mess....just saw two new polls, both in the same general range.

Most people appropriately still blame Bush for this economic mess, by 30%, Wall St., CEO's and Financial Institutions, by 22%. Congress by only 13% and Obama, by 8%.

Needless to say, those eight percent are probably Bubbas from the fly over states.... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

The one word that best describes Republicans? CORRUPTION.

Of course, denial and failure fits as well...they must depend on their propaganda station, and the 20% crazies in our society, to get control....

Hence, the Radical Amerrica hating, Tea Party. More Bubbas from F.O.States....
