on the one side we have many Tea Party backed candidates supporting the Constitution and the other we have the Democrat backed one that advocate commie/pinko/socialists solutions to our current problems.

The one common focus among the Tea Party candidates is the need to 'take our country back' to its constitutional foundation, limited government.

The one common element of Democrats is the mantra of 'trust your government (aka, us Democrats), we know what's best for you' and the desire to control the lives of everyone.

When the evidence is so overwhelming that 'government is not the solution to our problems, government is the problem' the REAL NUTJOBS keeps repeating the same big government mantra. Sounds a whole lot like those pesky 'IRRATIONAL EMOTIONS' taking control of the Democrat Party.

My definition of the two is even starker.

On one side we have citizens who believe that we have been endowed with inalienable rights by the Creator and who believe that liberty is precious, personal responsibility the duty of each citizen, and that the federal govt should be kept just large enough to ensure anarchy is kept in check while leaving the inner workings of the nation under the local control of the individual states. IOW ... they believe in the American republic.

On the other side we have those who prefer to live as sheep and believe that it is the duty of the omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent federal govt to tell the individual how many gallons their flush toilet may use, what curriculum must be taught to their children, what amount of wealth they create may be kept, how many steps up the ladder they may safely climb, what can be broadcast and printed, and every other bit of minutiae. They live in fear of actual free thought and despise responsibility. IOW ... they hate the American republic.
