For long term Health Care Savings, in order to LOWER spending, among other things,

Add a robust public option and/or all-payer system in the exchange.

Hence, by tryng to work with Republicans, who pulled their usual bait and switch game, we lost the public option from the Bill, the very part which the debt commission recommends to save money.

Nancy was right.

Its nothing but an offer for long term government dependency and big government.

Start by cutting the size of the federal government by 50%.
Reduce salaries and benefits to the US median for a middle class single white male.
Make all elected officials work for free.

How did they lose it?

WHy didn't they pass it?

They controlled the senate with a filibuster proof super majority along with the house and White House ... how did the R's stop them?

Gal up and realize the truth.

Correct! Any legislation that Congress wanted was completely within their super majority.

This woul d be the first time in history that this has happened. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Do you know what 'control' means?

Unlike the GOP, the Dems still have some own will. They don't always vote as a unit.

.and then there is Liebermann.

So you are now claiming that the R's blocked the public option because some of the D's stood up to the regime?

Yes Snoopy ... the doublethink is strong in you.

Yes, Q., as Mark Twain, used to say, I don't belong to any organized party, I'm a Democrat.

LOL...

We did have a SOTH, who did an incredible job, in organizing the party, and hence, Repubs spent a fortune, spreading lie after lie around about her...

BUT, IMO, watching this Republican Congressional Cabal, struggling through the current growing Republican Civil War, at a time when those who voted for them, were not composed of centrists, many not that excited about turning back to Republicans in the first place.

Those who joined their party, were extremists, who made promises that the old liners are NEVER going to buy into, I think this is going to be a real circus, inside the Republican Party...they're already at one another's throats, so there may be no blank check this time...in fact, it will likely look more like a self-destruct, and we may finally see that famous Mushroom Cloud.

Yes, we know you do not like anyone to the right of the extreme leftists. Lieberman is one of the best examples of a centrist in DC.
