Reminds me of an old Will Rodgers line:

What percentage of the economy should be filled by what business sector is an unknowable but that our economy suffers from excess government interference is known. Yes, cut spending and taxes by about 50% or more, purge the socialists and Marxists and watch America become the economic miracle that it once was.

But what is more likely to happen that that the know-it-alls in Washington will create more subsidy programs and incentives to mold an outcome closer to their theories. And again government will only make a bad situation worse.

If Tax cuts for the wealthy top one percent, worked, to stimulate the economy, we wouldn't be in this mess.

You cannot subsidize corporations who out-source AMerican jobs, to slave labor, arouond the world, and at the same time, keep insisting that Republican policies worked.

The FAILED.

You cannot finance two wars, cut taxes, increase prescirptions drug programs, and cirpple them, for the beneift of the Charmaceutical Industry, by removing opportunities to shop prices, blame safety regulations for corporations moving off shore, when they had all of that, for eight years, and still outsourced jobs.

Bush ran up a huge deficit, and left the country so far in debt, only Jesus could have brought the economy, and the housing market back this soon.

We've had steady gains, slow but steady. Now that Republicans are back, we're going to have obstructionism, and this time, it's going to throw us back into the Brink of a depression.

You can't squeeze blood out of a turnip. The Middle Class is barely hanging on now.

If houseing isn't monitored, by the Fed, and housing prices begin to take a big crash, you're going to see millions more lsoing their homes.

Tax cuts for the wealthy at this time, are shsear insanity. Going into debtg, to further beneift the already wealthy, when it is a fact, they do not spend those tax cuts, makes no sense whatever.

We have already seen what that accomplished for us, NOTHING. I put us into a pit.

Obama has two wars he's trying to get out of, with some honor, right now, both left to him by BUSH THE IDIOT, who launched two wars, cut taxes, increased entitlement spending, and put it all on our international credit card, and we STILL have people who refused to acknowledge who destroyed the AMerican economy.

IT WAS BUSH!!!!! AND his blank check Republican majority...

If anyone thought it was going to turn around sasily, they were not living in the real world.

Ecnomists were waring him for years, and as usual, about the deficits and tax cuts during wartime, he ignored all of the warnings, with Dickhead by his side, saying, "The deficits don't matter" and self proclaimed economic experts, from North Carolina, on this site, repeating that same idiotic assertion....

What tools does the president have to get out of Bush's mess????

When Bush put us in a ditch, before he left, and the Democratic congress INHERITED a declining economy, and massive debt???

This is yet another classic case, of failed Republican Polcies. I've seen them over and over for decades.

Actually the reason is that the state listened to moonbat leftists who are completely anti capitalist ... resorting in our manufacturing base fleeing the USA to ecological wastelands such as China.

Kill US prosperity AND the ecology ... all in the name of saving the ecology.

Shrewd.

Gayle, The sooner you cleanse your thinking of the distorted partisan prism, the sooner you will come to see the light. It is not Republican spending versus Democrat spending, it is spending versus not spending and both parties of guilty of excessive spending. That has put us on a course too much government and too little private sector and it is that private sector which must support everything in our lives, including government. It simply does no good to blame Bush when The Moron is doing the same thing, in spades.

Government/statism is not the solution to our problems, it is the cause of our problems. Most of what the gov. is doing is no where to be found in the Constitution and is therefore unconstitutional. eliminating those unconstitutional expenses will bring our budget into balance AND free us all to do what free people know how to do, WIN the economic battles we all face.

Freedom has not failed, Gayle, big government has failed and it has failed over and over again throughout history.

This statement cuts through all the BS right to the heart of the problem.

I challenge anyone to show me any time in recent history where government was not growing.
That is the core problem with our economy. Economy is driven by the private sector. Government is a drain on the economy. When the drain becomes larger than the source, everything falls apart.

Anyone who supports more government programs, bigger government, more spending, is a fool.

We need to reduce the size and scope of government if we are to have any hope of economic recovery. More government is not the answer.

NAFTA was a big killer for many of the jobs sent elsewhere. Both parties have contributed to this.

Having to carry the rest of the parasites does not help.

We are becoming the UK very quickly. Eventually we will all be on the dole.

No. The 40+ % that pay no taxes.

Of course passing the Fair Tax would fix this.

That's your opinion. Stating it, does not make it true.

Republican policies, which promote greed, without conscience, and applaud and protect, destroying the earth, in the interesst of greed, are the entire causes behind all of our problems.

Bush's war in Iraq, GREED. It was all about oil contracts.

Republican denial of climate change, again, greed, without conscience.

Corruption and waste, during the Bush Administration, while prosecuting the wars, his unpaid for Pharmaceutical program, his failure to address the growing mortgage crises, and the Wall Street Pigs, allowed to be drunk with greed, without conscience,
and without regulation, that awful bad word, according to the Republican philosophy, the whole "get mine, and get out" philosophy, all about Wall Street GREED, wsithout conscience.

I find it interesting how those from the right, quote the bible, but not once do they speak of "The Love of money is the root of all evil."

We've witnessed Republican obstructionism in addressing our dependence on foreign oil, at a time when our troops are dying in the Middle East, and we are giving away billions upon billions to the same people who have financed terrorism all along, in the interest of contracting for oil.

Don't present youself as some sort of Christian Profit. Your grasp of our real, and most pressing issues, is woefully narrow. You righties have allowed yourselves to be brain washed, and distracted, away from the real threats, which can be proven, by SCIENTIFIC FACT.

Whenever you see a Party, go to extremes, with a policy of denying science, that SHOULD give you a clue about what is actually behiind their denial.

In the case of climate change, it is obvious, The Grand Oil Party, is again, protecting their contributors.

Most of our economic problems, are linked to energy, and losoing jobs to slave labor, and the Bush policy of cutting tasxes, while fightinig wars, and spending their asses off through it all.

Much of the causes of the natural disasters which impact the health of the planet, it's animals, it's people, and it's beauty, all, one way or another, linked to ennergy.

Like Cheney's One Percent Solution, his ridiculous excuse for Iraq, and turning a strategy, into cause for all out war, when only two out of every 98 scientists, deny the link between global warming, and burning filthy fuels, and they are bought and paid for by the Oil Industry, and virtually all of the medical community, link the rising rates of cancer, and other diseases, to the vast pollution caused by corporate pigs, who are being subsidized, while they hide their money offshore,, and pollute the world, who only care about their bottom line, skip out on taxes, compliments of Cheney's many loopholes, hide their money, and outsource our jobs to slave labor in other countries, one would have to be blind, as most of you righties who support Republican policies, surely show yourselves to be, or terminally stupid, to deny the connections between our health costs, The Grand Oil Party, these expensive wars in the Middle East, the corruption that caused the oil spill in the Gulf, the Republican hisotory of propping up of dictators in oil rich countries, and many other obvious reasons behind all of it, like the FACT that Karl Rove, Dick Cheney and George Bush, are all heavily invested in land targeted for Fracking, in up-state New York.

It's amazing how obvious it is that you people on the right, do not read books.

Republicans are, knuckle dragging Neanderthals, in ever way, and the most corrupt of any and all political parties we've ever witnessed in our history.

The world is eating itself alive, and your misguided religious idiots, are seeking to deny people birth control!!!!

Amazing ignorance, beyond stupid. Nothing Christian IMO< about the views of the christian Right.

The "Republican Christian risht" is an oxynmoron.

The makers making the usofa cake are being overtaken by the prix kontrolling the slicing (slicers), ie Wall St.
Slicers allways win.

The law of komparativ advantage sez that it iznt impossible for a country (eg the usofa) to hav a cost (& price) disadvantage when it kums to selling (all, yes all) usofa goods inside the usofa.

Mac, I've been on here for over a decade, preaching, "Buy AMerican Made Products."

There are websites, which give people who are interested in Buying American Products, the names of the products which are manufactured here.

Back twelve years ago, when I started to write here about buying American, I was called a protectionist!

Yeh, why bother tring to go out of your way, to protect America, by buying our own products? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif We're dealing with people on here who defend WALMART!

Now, look where we are!

This BS about corporations using excuses like Unions, and Taxes, to justify taking our jobs to slave labor, on the other side of the world, is insane. They are full of GREED, and they don't care about America.

Just think, if our country had spent all of the money Bush wasted in the Middle East, for OIL corporations, on renewable fuels, and building up the steel industry, here.

Just think if we didn't have thsoe southern crooks, in bed with foreign automobile industriies, and SM hadn't killed the electric car?

Having Republican Administrations, ran and operated by Republicans in bed with big oil, has hurt us here more than anything else.

The future belongs to the country which embraces renewables, energy conservation technology, and investing in providing the best education for our kids, possible.

People are so easily BSed, by their Party rhetoric. Giving tax cuts to millionaires and billionares, is absolutely insane!

Reagan tore those solar panels off the White House, in bed with big oil, and the Republican smear machine, bashed Carter, for leveling with the American people, by calling it the malaise speech.

The Republican Party has perfected the act of being successful LIARS who smear those who attemmpt to come to Washington to share ideas, and work for the people...

The Health Care Plan, is a good example, whenn Health Care costs, are one of the biggest drains on Americans.

If you have a party full of ignorant supporters, who do not read books, and are sidetracked by social issues, instead of being able to see the big picture, and they win an election, after obstructing every single vote, for progress, for nearly two years, lying about something as important as what was actually in the HC Bill, trashing the man who is trying to address our most important threats, pollution, and our health costs, which are definitely linked, and Republicans are protecting scum like the Health care industry, AND subsidizing the same corporations which pollute the earth, and create more illness, how do you unbrainwash, the ignorant????

Why the hell do they think Republicans are denying climate change, when the vast majority, 98% of the scientific community, has been consistantly warning us about it, while people like Bush were censoring our own studies, that WE pay for, to protect the Oil Industry?

The only way to move forward is with no Republican Power...none. They have no conscience. They always cut taxes, and grow the Federal Government, ALWAYS.

They ALWAYS launch costly wars, to benefit the Military Industrial Complex, and their cronies, the private war profiteering contractore, which the Military views as their big bonanza, once they retire....ALWAYS!

Republican policies have destroyed this country, and The Middle Class, but we have too many stupid, uneducated, unrealistic, narrow minded people, who are too easily distracted from the facts. That's the problem in a nutshell. I wonder, what the hell do they think the Chinese wear thos masks for, anyway? Do they not even see the clouds of pollution in China???

Post anything here about pollution, and the right jumps right in with the Republican talking points, and denies science.

They do the same thing about HOMOSEXUALITY!

Government CHARTS, from the non partisan CBO!

President Obama created more jobs than Bush di for his entire term....Republicans stand right up there and tell the country their most important goal is a political one, removing the Democratic President, and undoing his gains in addressing one of our most costly issues, health care, and a corrupted insurance industry, and they scream SOCIALISM!
Deniers all!
The greatest threats to America's future, are her own ignorant voters...

When will you ever learn that in the age of the web your mythology can be destroyed with a few keystrokes.

The reality is that the Obama regime has the worst job creation record since Herbert Hoover.

A loss of 3,000,000 US jobs.

The Obama regime has overseen the loss of every job created during the Bush regime ... plus 2,000,000 more.

It has overseen nearly as many lost jobs as their were jobs created during the Eisenhower regime.

TRUTH VERSUS MYTHOLOGY (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jobs_created_during_U.S._presidential_terms)
