The tax cuts were due to expire, the Republicans made it that way. Now they wanted to extend those tax cuts to all.
Obama was willing to extend those cuts for 98%, that's a compromise.
The GOP said no.
The Dems said, 'ok , we will extend those cuts to people earning 1 M, instead of 250,000.........another compromise, the GOP said no.
Not only did they say no, they said they would bring Govt to a halt if they didn't get their way.

For 2 years now they have been saying "its all about the deficit" but when they get the chance to pay off the rich, that principal goes out the window.

Where did the GOP compromise?

Wrong. The only way to get any democrooks to support it at all required it because democrooks do not want a self sufficient electorate ... they thrive on generational state dependency.

This is a republic. The POTUS has no authority to make tax law, only to sign or veto it when it hits the desk.

That's what they were elected to do, among other things. Elections have consequences. They won.

Elections have consequences. That's what the people demand. Deal with it.

Again you can't answer a simple question. That's the 2nd one today.

The GOP compromised by allowing extension of unemployment benefits for an additional 13 months.

In the last 40 years no congress has opposed Un Extensions when the unemployment rate was above 7.2. It has always been a given.

The GOP went against this norm and used the UE as a political football.

This is a fact.

Exactly! And Republicans have shown their only interest is in sucking up to the wealthiest people in this country.

The Dems were correct. Raising the number to over a million, was copromise enough, which did not put any additional stress on the economy, at all.

Republicans insisted also on maintaining the Bush tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires, Estate tax! All deficit, no economic gain, for the country, whatsoever, and hugely costly to the deficit.

This part of the bill is truly outrageous! The President should never have supported it.

But then, we already know that Republicans are for all kinds of rape:

The Reps have shown they will make sure the Dems act fairly since that is all they cry about when they are not in control.

Since when have you EVER been concerned about what is 'fair'?

Q...where did this compassion suddenly come from?

</div></div>This is not about me, it is about making the Dems do what they said they will do. They cry about the Reps never being fair yet the first thing the Dems do is raise spending to higher levels than ever and try and strong arm the rich to pay for it.

Don't change subject just because you are pathetically floundering in your initial defense.

Here is what's fair, take the money, divide it by every person who pays tax and give them all the same.

That's REALLY fair.

Well, that wouldn't be fair at all considering the rich paid in the overwhelming majority of those taxes. However, considering the season, I say divide the money fairly amongst the paying citizens up to the limit where the paying citizen actually paid in. For the balance (delta that the rich paid in) give to the homeless shelters to provide bare necessities and services for those people that have nothing. Give them food, shelter, clothing, soap, a razor, and cab fair to their job interviews.
