<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> The post-Soviet state of Uzbekistan is a nightmarish world of "rampant corruption", organised crime, forced labour in the cotton fields, and torture, according to the leaked cables.

But the secret dispatches released by WikiLeaks reveal that the US tries to keep President Islam Karimov sweet because he allows a crucial US military supply line to run into Afghanistan, known as the northern distribution network (NDN).

Many dispatches focus on the behaviour of Karimov's glamorous and highly controversial daughter Gulnara, who is bluntly described by them as "the single most hated person in the country".

She allegedly bullied her way into gaining a slice of virtually every lucrative business in the central Asian state and is viewed, they say, as a "robber baron". Granted diplomatic status by her father, Gulnara allegedly lives much of the time in Geneva, where her holding company, Zeromax, was registered at the time, or in Spain.

She also sings pop songs, designs jewellery and is listed as a professor at Tashkent's University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The British ambassador in Tashkent, Rupert Joy, was criticised by human rights groups in October when he helped boost Gulnara's image by appearing with her on a fashion show platform.</div></div>

Censorship is what you call it when someone steals classified info and our Government does not want anyone to read it? It is stolen classified info you idiot. Classified means you are not allowed to read it.

<span style="color: #990000">Are you really that stunningly ignorant of the meaning of censorship?

Censorship, is censorship, regardless of the classification status.

For example, Bush censored the scientific studies from NASA on Global Warming, which we all pay for with our tax dollars.

the studies weren't classfied,, but he censored them non the loess.

H did often use classification as a tool, to deep six loads of other irreputable, illegal, inhumane other activities by his own administration, and declassified some things, in order to create an cover for his own treason, in the outing of Valarie Plame, AFTER the fact, for example.

Censorship, is a totally different thing, from "Classfied" two words, with compoletely different meanings.

Wow you really are on the personal attacks this morning aren't you?

Censorship does not apply to classified material. You could call it censorship if the material is declassified but in the true sense of the word, classified material is not censorship.

Now to reel you back onto the subject (since you just cannot keep your mind straight this morning) we are talking about stolen classified material not what Bush did to upset you.

Q. Just so you know, censorship is probably lower in the US than in most other countries.

Although, if the left had their way, they would love to censor FOX news, Rush, Walter E Williams, Neil Boortz, and anyone else who dares to speak out against this socialist administration.

In fact, we have a couple of lefties who would much rather silence the conservative voices right here on this forum, rather than actually defend their positions.

Is a political party allowed to have their own tv channel? Can they spread lie after lie, day after day and get away with it?
I don't know.

Believe me, nobody wants to silence you because the more you speak, the more you make my case for me.

As for Fox, they can stay on the air but with full disclosure.

Guess what smart guy....if Bush leaked it then it's no longer classified. Kind of has to do with who has the authority to declassify things. A pretty tricky concept I know. But I'm kind of confident if you think about, drink milk and give it the old college try that you can wrap your head around it.

Yeah, he declassified parts of a intel report and never told anyone. This is probably news to you.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">On the April 23 edition of Fox Broadcasting Co.'s Fox News Sunday, Weekly Standard editor William Kristol <u>falsely claimed that President Bush "declassified most" of the October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) that he reportedly authorized then-vice presidential chief of staff I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby to leak to reporters.</u>

In fact, court papers filed by special counsel Patrick J. Fitzgerald in his prosecution of Libby state that Libby testified that <u>Cheney told him Bush had authorized the disclosure of select portions of the NIE.</u> According to the papers, <span style='font-size: 14pt'>Libby testified that he disclosed a very small, cherry-picked series of excerpts from the 90-page NIE in an effort to discredit claims made by former ambassador Joseph C</span>. Wilson IV, a critic of the Bush administration's decision to invade Iraq. <span style='font-size: 14pt'>While it remains a matter of debate whether Bush's reported authorization constituted a "declassification" of those portions of the NIE, neither that disclosure -- nor the subsequent, official declassification of additional portions of the NIE -- resulted in the declassification of "most" of the document.</span> Kristol made the false claim to support his contention that there is "no comparison at all" between Bush's reported authorization of Libby to leak portions of the NIE and former CIA officer Mary McCarthy's alleged leaking of classified information to The Washington Post.

Fitzgerald's court filings indicate that Libby in fact leaked only selected portions of the NIE during his July 2003 conversations with reporters. Fitzgerald wrote that <span style='font-size: 17pt'>Libby said he told then-New York Times reporter Judith Miller that the NIE held that Iraq was "vigorously trying to procure" uranium from Niger </span>-- <span style="color: #CC0000">a claim intended to rebut a July 6, 2003, New York Times op-ed by Wilson.</span> <span style='font-size: 26pt'><u>But Libby did not include another portion of the NIE that contradicted this rationale:</u> the assertion by the State Department's Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR) <u>that the claim that Iraq was "vigorously trying to procure" uranium in Africa was <span style="color: #3366FF">"highly dubious."</span></u></span> </div></div>

Bush did not declassify, he leaked cherry picked parts of a top secret doc for his own political gain. Nothing to do with the USA or Nat Sec.

Unless you want to say something that the left disagrees with even if it is the truth. Then you get dragged into court for hate speech. How's Geert Wilders doing now days?

There was a case in Amsterdam a few years ago where a fireman had agreed to take care of his girlfriends dog. He let the dog out to do his business and when he came out a few minutes later, a couple of drunks had beaten the dog senseless and were preparing to set it on fire. He beat the crap out of the both of them. So, what did the dutch justice system do? Charged him with assault and battery and let the too poor misunderstood drunks go.

It's a free and open society as long as you are PC or else you go to jail.
