It is hypocritical to apply higher standards to American companies doing business in a corrupt systems than those applied to their competitors. While it appears that Nigeria is attempting to clean up its own system, it is more likely that they are merely taking advantage of our own hypocritical legal sanctions we have imposed on our own citizens. We, as Americans, just keep paying to salve the conscience or a bunch of our fellow do-gooders.
