"Arizona Republicans, led by Governor Jan Brewer, are sentencing innocent citizens to death. A second patient is dead after being denied a transplant because of budget cuts. The unidentified patient, who was waiting for a new liver, died Dec. 28.

On Oct. 1, the state stopped paying for certain organ transplants for patients covered by Medicaid. About 95 to 100 people were taken off the waiting list, and effectively sentenced to death by Arizona bureaucrats, the Republican controlled state legislature and Republican Governor Jan Brewer (a real death panel).

Wednesday University Medical Center spokeswoman JoMarie Gellerman reported the unidentified person died Dec. 28 due to hepatitis after earlier being removed from the center's list for a liver transplant.

Gellerman says hospital officials believe the patient's death was "most likely" a result of Arizona's controversial scaled-back coverage for transplants.

Democrats to the Rescue

Incoming Democratic Senate Minority Leader David Schapira has pre-filed proposed legislation to restore the transplant coverage this legislative session. The coverage shortfall amounts to $4 million - about $1.4 million in state money and the rest in federal matching funds.

Where is the outrage?

Tea Party wing nuts like Sarah Palin have made a career out of spreading out right lies and deceptions about Obamacare Death Panels, even though such panels have always been the stuff of right wing paranoid fantasies. Yet when faced with real and very lethal death panels, the Tea Party ding dongs are silent. What gives?

What sort of mindless and idiotic hypocrisy is this? Where is the outrage?

People are dead and will continue to die because of a cost-saving measure in the state budget approved by the Republican legislature and signed by Gov. Jan Brewer. This is the nightmare made real. One is forced to ask yet again: "Where is the outrage?" '

And once Obamacare kicks in, this will be happening at the federal level, not just at the state level.

"Covered by Medicare", means that the feds will determine exactly what they will and will not pay for. That means that every shortfall would have to be picked up by the states. That would be those states who are already struggling with massive budget cuts.

Whatch what happens in about 3 or 4 years. (Unless the Reps are successful in repealing Obamacare)

And to think that if it weren't for Arizona having to provide care for all the undocumented democrats, this might have all been avoided.

I vote for the dream act = a vote for death panels.

I have to partially agree with Gee on this one ...
