Getty has since yanked the photo, but as one commenter who saw the photo at Getty’s site before it was yanked noted: “To see that image presented as if it were completely normal and purchasable was shocking.”
Flashback — trendy “ABORT Sarah Palin” stickers:

Visitors to "A Photo Op with Sarah Palin" by Brooklyn artist Dawn Robyn Petrlik <span style='font-size: 14pt'>can don a fake-fur vest and hold a cardboard rifle to pose for a photo with Sarah Barracuda and daughter Piper.</span>

The Palin gals, photoshopped cardboard cutouts set up in front of a backdrop mountain scene, kneel behind a huge, plush, slain caribou.
<span style='font-size: 14pt'>"Humor is the best way sometimes to deal with very serious issues," Petrlik said.</span>
Hundreds have been snapping photos of themselves, hunkered down between the Palin gals or holding a rifle up high, since the piece opened last month.

Printouts of New Yorkers and Palins in different poses cover the wall next to the installation.
<span style='font-size: 20pt'>"About one-third of the people have wanted to shoot Sarah, and all of them thought they were unique," Petrlik said.</span>
He said he's also had some Palin supporters drop by to pose with the vice-presidential nominee.
<u>Petrlik came up with "Photo Op" last month after seeing a picture of the Alaska governor and her little girl next to a freshly-shot caribou in the Daily News.</u>
