View Full Version : Question about a Southwest Cue
01-22-2011, 08:56 AM
A while back I picked up a Southwest cue and I noticed that the two shafts have different diameters. Probably 13mm and 14mm.
Today on Ebay I see a Southwest being offered for sale and it appears that the shafts they show have different diameters.
So, is this the way they were manufactured by Southwest? Or did the owner have to specifically request the shafts to be different?

You can always call Southwest Cues and ask the source.

I did call Southwest a few weeks ago and spoke with Laurie, I believe, and she must have a fantastic memory because when I gave her the cue number she was able to describe it and tell me the first owner (local pool hall). Unfortunately she said it came with 2 13mm shafts and I have a 13mm and a 14mm. I suppose I should contact the second owner, who purchased 3 Southwests and see what the story is.
I can't believe that it is almost 3 months since I posted this. Time sure does fly when you get old.

Jake, as happens sometimes, while seaking an answer you got more questions. LOL
What happened to the other original 13mm shaft?
Where did the 14mm shaft come from?
Is the 14mm shaft from Southwest or is a knock off?
If the 14mm shaft is from Southwest, where is the cue that it came from?
Looks like you have your work cut out for you, if you care to track down the other 13mm shaft.
