Haha! I know you're rooting for me and I appreciate that, but let's not go overboard. I did OK. Not great, not poor.
Let's leave it at that.

Good morning:
Granted, my opinion is biased! However, considering the fact that you had to play on an un-even playing field filled with more pot holes then the streets of Manhattan, you did great.

The 27th should be quite a fun night out....

Howdy,
After the win she was very humble,as always.
Iwas fortunate to be included in her private victory party with three others including Jeanette. Hitting the road this morning.Cheers

I'm curious that your site says that it's Helena's first WPBA title. This isn't true, unless I've been dreaming.

If she has won a previous title, it was from before I started the site. If so, then it is 'my bad'. If someone can verify she won a previous title, I will be glad to change it.

Good job Fran. Nice finish. You don't want to be associated with THAT Top 16 anyway. They're getting all the bad press these days /ccboard/images/icons/wink.gif

From her profile at http://www.wpba.com/tour/bios/players/thornfeldt.htm

Quote:
." By the end of that time, she had become a champion in her own right. She finished second to her friend in the "1995 WPBA New York Classic," and won her first event, the "Gordon's $50,000 9-Ball Challenge," held in Boston in 1996. She's also won the "1996 Huebler Cues Seattle Classic," and the "1997 Gentleman Jack's Great Dallas Shootout." Helena has had many top four finishes over the past few years, which has made her a steady contender on ESPN.

The Huebler Classic at the very least is an official WPBA Classic Tour event. The Gordon's tournament is listed under WPBA tours in the 1996 BCA rulebook, although it wasn't part of their "Classic Tour." I'd be surprised if the Gentlemen Jack's Shootout wasn't an official WPBA event, as well.
