after receiving back surgery in the US. Well, if our health care system is so bad, how come he didn't go to Cuba?

......because he is rich?

What did it cost?

Could you afford it?

Its good to know that US HC is available for all Saudis billionaires but not 30% of Americans.

We know why he did not go to the UK or Canada...he would have been put on a waiting list for months to a year.

And had you become very ill, before the Affordable H.C.Act,with an expensive life threatening illness, none of your preparations would have been worth anything, AFTER the profit based health insurance industry, dropped you.

GET REAL.

Plenty of successful, hard working people, who did all the right things to prepare for insurance coverage, and cover all of the bases, lost everything, because they were dropped.

Sixty Two percent, suffered foreclosures, due to being dropped, and because they became ill, and could not afford our unsustainable, health care costs.

Including victims of the Republican "Trickle" that never showed up! For many, Wall Street had bilked them out of everything they had invested.

Repubs are trying to destroy MIddle Class Unions, while Wall St. reports over twenty billion in bonuses to New York City Securities Industry Employees for 2010.

Because the US hospitals offer the best healthcare in the world. Just the fact that the Saudi King, who is wealthy enough to go anywhere in the world for healthcare, would choose to come to the US is evidence of that fact.

Yes, our healthcare costs are high, but it has been my experience in life that if you want the best quality of anything, you will usually have to pay more for it.

There is a reason that a BMW costs more than a Kia.

Since that is the expected result, a better question would be WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE GET KILLED BY THEIR MEDICAL CARE?

It's the single largest preventable unnecessary reason for death. The health care system kills over 100,000 a year.

The premise in and of itself is absurd.

Anyone who thinks that they could afford and access the same medical care through their American health insurance coverage, that the wealthy who fly here to buy the very best there is, isn't playing with a full deck.

Probably so ... but what data do you have comparing that with your beloved national health care systems?

Last Updated: 1:30 AM, November 30, 2010

Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah is causing his own diplomatic drama at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where the 86 year-old monarch has commandeered an entire wing as he recovers from back surgery on the VIP floor.

King Abdullah -- who repeatedly exhorted the US to "cut the head off the snake" by launching military strikes to destroy Iran's nuclear program, according to leaked diplomatic cables -- <span style='font-size: 14pt'>has forced other patients out by block-booking the hospital's top treatment and recovery rooms.</span>

A family member of one patient told us, "The king has taken the entire luxury treatment wing and booked out all the rooms, even though they are empty and he doesn't need them, to protect his privacy.

<u>"Patients are grumbling that they have been moved out to other areas of the hospital, and that despite there being a number of unused VIP treatment rooms, they can't be moved into them because they are all reserved for the king of Saudi Arabia."
</u>
The king underwent surgery for a blood clot and a slipped disc last week. Witnesses told us his security army is a visible presence both outside and inside the hospital.

One law enforcement source told us that Abdullah -- who was visited in Saudi Arabia by four Cornell doctors who advised him he had to have the surgery in New York -- is a generous donor to the hospital and visited a month prior to his surgery.

<span style='font-size: 17pt'>Abdullah arrived in town on Monday of last week with an enormous entourage. He chartered three flights to JFK, arrived with a massive security team and a film crew, and left the airport in a convoy of 40 vehicles, <u>including 20 for luggage alone.</u></span>

The Saudi embassy in Washington, DC, didn't return calls seeking comment. A spokeswoman for the hospital said, "I can confirm he is still a patient here," but declined to comment further.

Ok, the King has a lot of money.

Do you have any evidence that the hospital refused treatment to anyone, simply because the king was taking up some space, or are you just trying to make the situation look like something it isn't?

When Michelle Obama went to Spain on vacation, and took her people with her, and block booked rooms in a hotel, were you complaining that others were being denied access to the same services, simply because she was there??????????

Unbelievable! Stunning ignorance. Another, irrelevant laughable post, which totally distorts reality, AND the points b eing made....

This is a good example of why NEVER click on his BS posts.

Thanks for the reminder of why deviod of common sense, he remains on TOTAL IGNORE....

So what was the point of the post? The king has money...enough to bring a lot of people with him when he came to the US for his healthcare. It didn't hurt anyone else, and simply underscores my point that the man can go anywhere he wants for treatment, and choosess to go where he knows he will get the best possible care....the US healthcare system!
