My wife is from Chillicothe, Ohio in the far eastern part of the state.

She has some relatives who live in Gallipolis, Ohio ... right on the West Virginia border ... who I am not particularly fond of, but about once per year when we are in Chillicothe I will escort her to see them

Usually when we do we will cross over into WV as it does have some beautiful scenery.

Well, two years ago I agree to leave a digital point and shoot with them as theirs was broken as long as they use their own card and don't ruin some photos I had taken on that trip with it.

Last year I get it back and take some more pics of the WV countryside, and l forgot the camera in Gallipolis.

Well, I finally received it in the mail and would like to share some pics I took from the WV side.

These first two were pics of some Christmas ornamentation displayed atop a restaurant:

showing Santa Claus in a seemingly compromising entanglement with two young toucans?

The next one was a man who was using a rather old crane to erect a wooden cross in the front yard:

As I stopped the truck, which has been shown on this forum and AZB before, and rolled down the window to take the pic ... he got out of the cab of the crane, gave me a scowl, and went in the house.

He didn't seem to be in the Christmas spirit at all.

Let's not jump to conclusions JohnnyD ... that is the province of the far left.

It did, however, make me go HMMMMM ...

Rookie 'reindeer' tryouts get encouragement:

Apparently you haven't witnessed the numerous cross erections here to see the odd humor in all of this.

True that. Do they usually have more butch colored cranes, say, black?

I'm not sure ... they are usually so busy bellowing a defense of Exalted Cyclops and Klan Kleagle Robert Cornelius Calvin Sales Byrd Junior that the color of the crane gets missed.

I makes for a vibrant backdrop though.
