... you are either a psychic or an idiot.

What a tournament this has turned out to be.

A :play in" team who many questioned there presence in the tournament at all, making the final four is incredible.
I seriously doubt there is an original bracket in existence that had Butler playing VCU in the final four!

On ESPN there were 2 in 5.9M that picked all4.

Their sanity is clearly in question.

I played 2 sheets in the local pool ... one had Kansas, Duke, UNC, and Floriduh.

The other had UK, Cinci, Louisville, and Floriduh.

I am in full agreement on the either psychic or idiot comment. What a weird tournament.

I still don't get the play in seeding, though. If say VCU (for example) was a "bubble team" who wasn't good enough to be an at large bid in the first place, how do they win one game---against a presumingly equivalent team at the time--- and are suddenly an 11 seed instead of 16?

At any rate, great run by VCU as well as Butler.

It is definitely one crazy ride.

I am with Skip Baily. VCU did not deserve to be in the tournament, plain and simple. Entrance into the tourney is based on how well you played during the regular season and they just did not have it.

However, now they are absolutely making the most of it and good for them.

My thought is to play the NIT, which is currently meaningless, immediately after the conference tournaments. Make it a fast and furious affair as a "last gasp" for teams to get into the big one. The final four of the NIT gets to be the last four in...

That would definitely be interesting. I like it.

Yeah, I just figure that way it would be more difficult to argue about a team's deservedness of being there. Well, the argument could still exist... but at the very least the qualifying teams would have strung together a few good wins to play their way in rather than having been decided via the selection committee.

I think the field should be expanded to 128.

Take the 68 now ... add in the NIT's 32 to make it 100 ... and in whatever they call the other 16 team tourney to make it 116 ... add in the women's final 4 to make it 120 ... and pick the last 8 by Ouija board.

I thought the Ouija method has been in use since '04 already anyway?

Forget the Ouija board. Let the last four be by presidential appointment!

Credit where credit is due... this pres probably would have done a pretty good job. He was in the 99th percentile after the first 2 rounds on his board. Still just outside of the 95th percentile now (although his picks from here on out are already bust).

Perhaps the last 8 should be selected by duel?
