THIS (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110406/ap_on_re_us/us_boy_hate_crime) is getting major media play:

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">NEW YORK A 13-year-old girl has been arrested on hate crime charges and is accused of helping bully and attack a Muslim girl at their New York City middle school.

The girl and a 12-year-old boy who was arrested last week were arraigned in family court Tuesday on charges of attempted robbery and third-degree assault as a hate crime. Both were charged as juveniles and were in the custody of the Administration for Children's Services.

Authorities say the two bullied and tormented a 13-year-old Muslim girl at the Staten Island school, calling her a terrorist and trying to steal from her. They say the abuse culminated with the two trying to rip off her head scarf.
If convicted, they face 18 months in juvenile detention. School officials say disciplinary action is pending.</div></div>

Although certainly an event that should be punished ... arrest and charges of hate crimes? Really? REALLY? <span style='font-size: 11pt'>REALLY?</span>

Anyone who was ever a kid in public schools has witnessed kids persecuted far worse than this for the crime of being different.

But, at the same time the same media has been virtually silent over THIS (http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2011/04/02/media-ignore-wisconsin-teacher-charged-sending-death-threats-republic):

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">A 26-year-old woman was charged Thursday with two felony counts and two misdemeanor counts for allegedly making email threats against Wisconsin lawmakers during the height of the battle over Gov. Scott Walker's budget-repair bill.

Katherine R. Windels of Cross Plains was named in a criminal complaint filed in Dane County Criminal Court.

According to the criminal complaint, Windels allegedly sent an email threat to State Sen. Robert Cowles (R-Green Bay) March 9. Later that evening, she allegedly sent another email to 15 Republican legislators, including Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau).

The subject line of the second email was: <span style='font-size: 11pt'>"Atten: Death Threat!!!! Bomb!!!"</span> In that email, she purportedly wrote, <span style='font-size: 14pt'>"Please put your things in order because you will be killed and your families will also be killed due to your actions in the last 8 weeks."</span>

As Ed Morrissey with help from the Underground Conservative discovered, <span style='font-size: 11pt'>Windels is a schoolteacher.</span>

The complaint against her was filed at 8:30 AM Thursday. Yet, according to LexisNexis and Google searches, <span style='font-size: 11pt'>not one major American newspaper outside of Wisconsin has reported her being charged.</span>

<span style='font-size: 14pt'>Not one.</span>
