<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Take One: Bin Laden died in a bloody firefight.

On Sunday night, Obama dramatically told the world that "after a firefight," our brave men in uniform "killed Osama bin Laden and took custody of his body."

Embellishing the story the next morning, White House deputy national security adviser John Brennan said at his briefing that bin Laden "was engaged in a firefight with those that entered the area of the house he was in. ... And whether or not he got off any rounds, I quite frankly don't know. ... It was a firefight. He, therefore, was killed in that firefight."

Take Two: Bin Laden did not engage in a firefight.

The day after Brennan disclosed such vivid details, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney walked them back Michael Jackson-style. Bin Laden, he said in version 2.0, "was not armed." Brennan had clearly implied that bin Laden "resisted" with arms. Carney amended the narrative by insisting that "resistance does not require a firearm." How exactly bin Laden resisted, Carney would not say.

It's been all downhill, uphill, K-turns and 180s ever since. Fasten your seatbelts:

Take Three: Bin Laden's wife died after her feckless husband used her as a human shield.

Take Four: Bin Laden's wife did not die, wasn't used as a human shield and was only shot in the leg. Someone else's wife was killed, somewhere else in the house.

Take Five: A transport helicopter experienced "mechanical failure" and was forced to make a hard landing during the mission.

Take Six: A top-secret helicopter clipped the bin Laden compound wall, crashed and was purposely exploded after the mission to prevent our enemies from learning more about it.

Take Seven: The bin Laden photos would be released to the world as proof positive of his death.

Take Eight: The bin Laden photos would not be released to the world because no one needs proof and it's more important to avoid offending peaceful Muslims who supposedly don't embrace bin Laden as a "true" Muslim in the first place.

Take Nine: Bin Laden's compound was a lavish mansion.

Take Ten: Bin Laden's compound was a glorified pigsty.

Take Eleven: Bin Laden's compound had absolutely no television, phone or computer access.

Take Twelve: Bin Laden's compound was stocked with hard drives, thumb drives, DVDs and computers galore.

Take Thirteen: Er, remember that statement about bin Laden being armed? And then not armed? Well, the new version is that he had an AK-47 "nearby."

Take Fourteen: A gung-ho Obama spearheaded the "gutsy" mission.

Take Fifteen: A reluctant Obama dithered for 16 hours before being persuaded by CIA Director Leon Panetta.

Take Sixteen: Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and close advisers watched the raid unfold in real time "minute by minute," according to Carney and a gripping insider photo was posted immediately by the White House on the Flickr picture-sharing website for all to see.

Take Seventeen: Er, they weren't really watching real-time video "minute by minute" because there was at least nearly a half-hour that they "didn't know just exactly what was going on," Panetta clarified. Or rather, un-clarified.

Take Eighteen: Stalwart Obama's order was to kill, not capture, bin Laden.

Take Nineteen: Sensitive Obama's order was to kill or capture and that's why the SEAL team gave him a chance to surrender, upon which he resisted with arms, or actually didn't resist with arms, but sort of resisted without arms, except there was an AK-47 nearby, sort of, or maybe not, thus making it possible to assert that while Decisive Obama did tell the SEALs to kill bin Laden and should claim all credit for doing so, Progressive Obama can also be absolved by bleeding hearts because of the painstakingly concocted post facto possibility that bin Laden somehow threatened our military telepathically or something before being taken out.

Take Twenty: "We've been as forthcoming with facts as we can be," said an irritated Carney on Wednesday. </div></div>

And the left will readily accept each new version of the truth as being accurate, completely forgetting that they believed something totally different yesterday, and will believe something even more different tomorrow.

Clowns is a pretty good description. Thank God our military are far more capable than our administration. This whole thing has become a circus. Watching this administration is almost as entertaining as watching old 3 Stooges shows.

Maybe we should change his name from O-bama to MOE-bama!

No problem with that.

However they should have hung him by the neck from one of the choppers and did a fly over.

Then when over the ocean brought a second chopper up from underneath and chummed him.

I think you should direct your comments to the source...the brave Navy SEAL team that accomplished the mission. I doubt very much if either you or lww have any close combat experience, so maybe you
should inquire of Deeman, why the stories might vary some.
I have no training myself, therefore can't counter your own "expert analysis" concerning the operation.

there isn't anyone in the WH that thinks the public needs to know anything about their activity and therefore have little concern for accuracy in their reporting. Of course, anyone who questions their report is a racist or fascist or just a RW retard and their lapdogs in the press agree. will the public ever catch on?

Interesting read on the subject:

And our resident queen lefty, in another thread, had the nerve to ask how specifically, the white house story had changed over the week!

I've figured out one thing. Much of their problem is the don't pay attention to what is going on. They wait for their favorite bloggers to tell them what's going on.

thanks for posting this list. it seemed like every time i heard the news, there was a new and conflicting story (lie) coming from the WH. I am still amazed how the Left can cheer this death while still investigating those CIA agents for using the enhanced interrogation techniques that uncovered the leads that led to that end. And just today it was reported that The Moron turned his back on someone pleading him to help these agents.

The left can cheer his death...because we still remember 9/11...end of story!!!

The left was in large part responsible for it.

Who set up rules stopping us from checking what was on the laptop of one of the planned attackers?

Who refused to have UBL taken out because we might pizz off a Suadi royal family member?

Who refused to take UBL when he was offered up to us?

Who fought tooth and nail against the very tactics that led to UBL's demise?

Who had their shorts all in a wad over the Patriot Act?

Who announced to the world how we had been tracking UBL via his satellite phone ... leading to him ditching the sat phone?

Who refused to take UBL and AQ seriously after Black Hawk Down? After Khobar Towers? After the African Embassy bombings? After the USS Cole? After the Millennium bombing attempt? After the first WTC bombing?

Who used the USAF to back AQ in the Balkans?

Who spent 10 years saying Bush was behind 9/11?

Yet it was under the leadership of this admin, that removing OBL as a continuing threat, became a priority.
GWB is on record as diminishing that as any objective.
My beliefs have never veered, despite your making such a ludicrous, unprovable statement to the contrary.
If this daring raid on OBL's hideout had been accomplished during GWB's term....you would have been nominating him for the
Presidential Medal of Freedom....wait, that is awarded to civilians....maybe then the Medal of Honor?

I certainly hope he thinks the same way you do and hangs his hopes for a second term on one military victory. That would make him easy pickings for any reasonably qualified opponent. The balance of his record to date will be his downfall...providing the Reps can find a decent candidate...which I will admit, doesn't look real good at the moment.

That's the great thing about this country.....we are all allowed to have different opinions....and we are all allowed to interpret
if events will have a negative or a positive effect on the next election, and also how they effect our own voting decisions.
While top secret clearance cryptographers are vital to the nation;s defense, it's common folks like myself that find the hidden messages in the news, interpret them, and then decide elections. Your vote doesn't count any more then the votes of any of the hundreds/thousands of employees under your management

So, considering the supposed exceptional intellect you claim to posess, why don't you share your vast knowledge of all the hidden messages you have discovered in the news.

This should be quite entertaining.

I commented on my scholastic record just in defense of claims by your group, that I was mentally deficient. I don't believe my marks were exceptional....and I also lack a College Degree, so how smart could I claim to be????
As to making any of my own news assessments....I see no reason that I have to share them here, for any attempted ridicule by you
over them.
I don't post for your entertainment, but just to comment on the news and lately it has become very dangerous for anybody on the left to post here.

pooltchr

How can you comment on the news when you admit you don't bother to keep up with the news?

As for your personal assessments, at least you understand that they would probably be fodder for ridicule.

As for the college degree...that is not necessarily an indicator of intelligence......just look at our Harvard graduate president for evidence of that fact.
