Yes, I remember when mom would bring home bag after bag of weekly groceries for our family of five growing boys on a very limited budget. You'll be as surprised as I was when the bill is tallied up at the end.

That's when Joe six pack was known as Joe 24. St.

That's when Joe Sixpack lived in an 800 SF home, watched a 17 inch black and white TV, drove a car with no A/C or power steering, listened to 33.33 RPM records.

Today Joe struggles with a 2,000 SF ranch, with central air, watches a 42 inch HDTV, drives a fully loaded SUV plus a second fully equipped minivan, and has a Dolby 5.1 surround system ... 3 other TV's ... and 2 iPods along with a house phone, 2 cellphones, and high speed internet.

Just when I think the left can be any worse informed ... they ratchet their stupidonomics to a new level.

The final total at the check out line wouldn't even come close to buying the 5 pound roast today...much less, everything else in the two carts!

Meanwhile the GOP deficit whores are voting against closing tax loopholes for big business and FOR BORROWING another trillion to give to the wealthiest Americans.
FOR reducing wages and recinding union bargaining rights for real workers and FOR reducing EVERY SERVICE they are entitled to. [ SS, Medicare etc etc etc. ]

Meanwhile, what are the sacrifices that Wall St and the Banks have made?

Ed brought this up. He seems to think that ALL Americans are making a sacrifice to pay for the Wall St/ Bank scam.

Its total BS. Listen to the GOP and you will know who THEY think has to pay the con men.

He's too partisan to make the connection betwee grocery costs, and the Grand Oil Party!!!!

LMAO!

Trickle Down. BWAHA HA HA HA!

Any idiot who can't see what happens when the Top Administration officials, were all from the Oil Cartel, can't accept that the wealthiest got the lion's share of the tax cuts, can't see where warring and borrowing for eight years, to fight the wrong war, in the wrong place, for war profiteers, most of which Bush and Cheney were connected to, is truly ignorant.

The Middle Class has been losing economic power, since Reagan.

Most of the jobs created have been in the private sector, yet they lie about that, too. The public sector has lost jobs, and they want to destroy even more of them.

Anytime you see a political party, destroying Unions, and pushing for privitizing everything, you're seeing the roots of fascism take hold.

Repiglicans have managed to turn their voters into hating the Middle Class, the sick and the poor, in order to continue to lie to them about the true causes of our economic problems, Repiglican blank check spending, borrowing, warring while cutting taxes, and destroying any oversight of the market, the banks, big pharma, health Care, and Health Care Insurance industry, have been gouging all of us, while the corporate polluters, are cuasing more canncer, more birth defects, more learning disabilities, more of making all of us ill.

Only twenty percent of those who lost their homes, were under CRA, and 62% of those, lost their homes due to HC costs, after being dumped by the insurance industry, yet, addressing the oil cartel, the HC industry, big pharma, the war profiteering military Industrial Complex, the corrupt Repiglicans go straight to their usual, to fear mongering, and their gun toting nutjobs, are back in their back pockets pockets, again!

They make up stories, about gun control, send punks in to create slander against ARORN, try to destroy the Unions, create hatred for our teachers, at a time, when education should be our top priority, and rebuilding our infrastructure, continues to be on their back burner and climate change, is causing more and more natural disasters.

Fema, for example, didn't work under Bush I, or Bush II, because they both hired political cronies to run FEMA.

Bush appointed former lobbyists, to oversee the very corporate interests they lobbied for, or worked for, and then, made excuses when nothing worked.

Everything they do, proves, they only care about the filthy rich, which produce NOTHING!

PIGS!

Excellent post, friend.

As we have seen one environmental disaster after another, over the last year, we can thhank Repiglican policies, the Grand Oil Party, for the rising costs of food, and the increase of natural disasters, from the warming of the earth.

When you see a party, Like The Grand Oil Party, denying climate change, and we can see clearly, the impact on the costs of groceries, and all other resources, and yet, Repiglicans as the Grand Oil Party, have blocked everything that could create a cleaner, safer environment, while more and more bad air and water, more and more fires, floods, everything that contributes to higher food costs, all resulting from Repiglican policies, makes one wonder, when are Repiglican voters, going to wake up????

If Reagan's David Stockman, hadn't rolled back Carter's plan to be free of foreign oil, imagine, how many more Americans would be alive today, between the natural disasters, health issues, and wars for oil!!!

If not for Repiglican policies, we would be the technological leaders right now, in energy renewables.

Repiglicans threaten the safety of the world, but China, will gladly pass us by, as they know, we are facing, Flat, Hot and Crowded in reality, and so, we can thank the Grand Oil Party, once again, for our serious problems, which they ignored, for money and votes, from the worst offenders.

Yeaning for the good old days????

Repiglicans destroyed them. The cost of energy, is the greatest contribution to higher costs for all of our needs, incl;uding food, and environmental global warming, which they deny, STILL, are causing higher prices for food, due to fires, floods, and more dangerous hurricanes, tornadoes, and all other environemntal threats.

Maybe it is because he is used to working in illegal casinos and not corporate America but there has to be some explanation for the stupidity in his post. Corporations, all around the US and the world, for decades have reduced budget in all areas of their companies to meet expectations. It happens all the time except in government positions. My bro-in-law is a parts manager for a dealership and he has not had a raise in 4 years and has seen his pay drop every year. Imagine if that was to happen to a government employee who drives around in his truck and hops out to read water meters? There would be outrage. The lefties would be on the tube telling blue hairs and college kids that the right is trying to shut off their water.

It has been happening for at least the decade and a half that I have worked for one. When I started there was a 50% layoff at the facility I was working at, 30,000 people down to 15,000 over the lunch hour. Sorry but I have real world experience and every year when I put in my BOE for work it gets slashed 10-15% right off the bat. My department has been cut project funding every year I have been an employee.

The first program Obama cut was the Presidential Helicopter retro, and that shut down an entire facility in my company. Don't sit smug like you know anything about what is happening. I am here actually living it. When was the last time you saw 50% of your medicare employees get axed in one day?

It's happening to people all over the country.

This is now a global economy.

WE need to invest in our infrastructure, education, technology, renewable energy. WE need to accept that we are not going to be the big dogs, anymore. We're still going to be able to be a player, but unless annd until, we stop allowing the unsutainable health costs, energy costs, and deficit causing TAX CUTS for BILLIONAIRS, and END the Repiglican promoted Class wars, turning AMericans against one another, denying the impacts of climate change, destroying opportunities for the Middle Class, which actually is THE JOB CREATION SECTOR, so they can increase the tax cuts for the top wealthiest, and block ending those huge oil subsidies, and destroying our every protection, to do so, there will be no hope.

First, we have to turn around the Repiglican denial of Science!

China, knows, non of their plans, will ever come to fruition, unless they invest in education, infrastructure, and technology for renewable energy.

All of the things that REpiglican BLOCK!!!!

Read, Flat, Hot AND Crowded!

The ONLY country that denies climate change, and sensors the studies that prove it????

Unbelievable, when the GLOBAL SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY knows already, technology for clean, renewable energy, is the key to any country's future.

REPPIGLICANS BLOCK EVERY EMERGENCY ISSUE.

THE BUSH TAX CUTS MUST END!

Even Ronald Reagan's former budget director, has stated, the Bush Tax cuts were the main causes of our economic problems, and must be repealed!

Repiglicans MUST stop being the Grand Oil Party!!!!

Corporations must not make our country into a fascist nation!

"When fascism comes, it will come waving the flag, carryng the Cross!"

Read a book once in a while.
Stop denying science!
A man never lived inside of a whale!
