Abigail's dad, Dustin Krutsinger, says the ordinance and its enforcers are going too far if they force a 4-year-old to abandon her lemonade stand.

The city said it was enforcing the ordinance for health reasons, because people have gotten sick from food and drink they got during RAGBRAI.

Every time I see such state abuse, I am reminded of this:

Private matter to be decided in that community, among their own people.

If you want to have an influence in this situation, move there and vote.

Otherwise, I guess you want everyone who doesn't live there to tell these people how to run their local affairs?

Butt out.

But it does show that the federal government is often the least of intrusive governments, as to daily lives. Here, it isn't even the state, but the city, who is imposing the application of this rule.

I would expect, however, no less of you than to defend it.
