I suspect either Romney himself, or Perry or the other GOP candidates for the nomination, will do the political destruction well before Obama can do anything.

If so, Obama will have to prepare negative campaigns against more than Romney, as Romney won't be the nominee.

Should he? Why the hell not? You think that isn't exactly the campaign plan for any and all of the GOP field?
